murray has won Olympic gold, Olympic silver, u s open, Wimbledon all with a dodgy back..:clap

he could be unstoppable in 2014..now is the ideal time for murray to take a break, I mean it worked for rafa/wafa, lets face it he needs to re-focus after winning Wimbledon never mind all the other stuff..

now he can relax, get fully fit and 100% healthy with healed back like the doctors said he should and then lay waste to the cowering opponents he will face in 2014 :plot

actually..i said he might as well have a back op on here somewhere last week as endless pain is so tedious..looks like he listened to magnificent me :D..ok maybe he listened to the doctors instead and not me.

Yes, he might as well just rest since he has no chance of world number one this year.

You're welcome Moxie. I'll admit I was fretting today. I just wanted to know that the operation had went well. I agree with you and Murat that the WTF is out of the question and that he shouldn't rush his recovery. Even if he did feel able to play in November he wouldn't be match fit. Probably best he just takes his time. He should be fighting fit for 2014.

I'm glad it went well. Thanks for letting us know.

"Did I win?" -- I love his dry sense of humor.

Maybe he'll be ready in time for Brisbane, and then the Australian Open.

Murray is easily my favorite opponent in tennis. He will be sorely missed.

According to L'Equipe, he could be back only in AO 2014
Sad to see him miss London's Masters, he could have won it if healthy
Hope he can come back sooner than expected

Just read on twitter that Andy has withdrawn from the Asia tournaments and is doubtful for the WTF. He's having surgery on his back. Don't know anything more yet. Gutted and worried. :(

end of Murray !

he will not reach his level again and in case if reaches he
will not win slam again

Most OTT post I've seen in years. You realize it was only minor back surgery. Have you seen Hewitt with bilateral hip replacements and a fused big toe taking sets off Djokovic lately, or maybe 35 year old Tommy Haas who has had TONS of surgeries and is just hovering outside the top 10? Murray has a strong frame and that will only help aid his recovery. He'll return hopefully without the niggling pain had had before and will be able to train and play at higher intensity if the surgery proves successful, which it likely should as these players have enough money to afford top surgeons.

If Murray wins Wimbledon again next year or indeed any other slam you'll end up like this. Also, I see from your signature you're a Federer fan and so am I, but Murray will recover well and is in his prime which is why you need to at least see how he performs in the AO and the slams next year before writing the guy off for what is only a minor setback at the end of the season and probably nothing more. A setback that means he can't play a few tournaments but should mean he's more competitive next year onwards.

That's a worthy 1st post.

FASTGRASS is an anti-murray troll :ras::cover

has been banned as fastgrass from tt 10days ago..came back as someone else under diff email account, prob been banned again..easily identifyable style of posting, spends time slagging off murray, predicting gloom in future, or trashing past acheivements,

may start own anti murray threads..if not enough hating on murray is going on to keep him/her sated.

will try lying to pretend it wasn't him if banned but so obvious its him/her as surely as a goose you saw in the river yesterday will still be a goose in the river today. (even if it trys to claim it is not a goose),

Andy's mum did an interview today and she said Andy is very sore and has to have complete bed rest for 2 weeks. I think that means participation in the WTF is completely out of window. I don't think he's a very good patient. Judy tweeted this today.

Me to my invalid son this morning : "can I do anything 4 u?" Him : " well u can stop talking. That always helps.". Yup, he's on the mend.

Cheeky so and so.

Olympic silver? I don't remember that.
Murray won all this with dodgy back ?
you are pathetic Murray fan.
I know you will give same argument when this mug will
return and fail to win slam!
his fluke slams were results of decline of fed, absence of nadal , fluctuations in the level of nole.
slam is not in realm of possibilities for this mug.
he will retire with 2 slams.

^ Fluctuations in the level of Nole? Murray's level has fluctuated more than Nole's level this year. Nole has been consistent all year. And Nole was lucky that Murray didn't make the semi-final at US Open this year (although I guess it didn't matter in the end).

Try showing a little courtesy to fellow posters or your stay here will be short-lived. If you believe the above, then It doesn't take a brain surgeon to figure out that you could get your point across in a far more civilised fashion.

andy will make a decision on playing in the WTF in a week or so,

suppose his back op went well then.

^^skysports uk ,tennis section (cannotdo link ).. iona will agree its legit news. *hellooooo*

murray to make o2 decision: participation unlikely but surgery went well, priority to be fit for 2014 season..and aiming to play in late november exhibs in south America.

there is a list of sub headings in the tennis bit, but it was last updated in an article on octb 4th.

he is 90% gonna withdraw, even if he was somehow fit enough he would be in serious risk of a setback and thus messing up his long run up to the 2014 season..(early training block, exo's, atp250 in aussie/nz, aust open.)

murray hasn't done anything more than stroll about since his op on Monday sept 23rd...I just don't see it, as the bloke said in 'The Bridge on the River Kwai' (film1957): playing at o2 would be "madness....madness".

Jesus, you are right. He seems more inclined not play. Apparently,
he signed up for some expo in Barbados to be played at end of Nov.

murray rehab has started (so it is claimed)..

pool work, and sundry back strenghening exercises for a week or so, then the plan is to go Miami beach (minus scarface shooting up some Columbians) to start his "training block" earlier than usual and start the long run up to 2014..

training early>exhos argentina>atp250 aust/nz>aussie open..and a 2014 with nadal/del potro/djokovic/murray/Federer ?? starting the fun once more. :)

There are roumors that Murray is absolutely fine already and that he's been practicing hard hoping to come back in some unbelievable form in 3014, similar to what Rafa did last year.
