There are roumors that Murray is absolutely fine already and that he's been practicing hard hoping to come back in some unbelievable form in 3014, similar to what Rafa did last year.

Those rumours are false. Andy only met with specialists last week about his rehabilitation programme. He hopes to be able to begin his annual training block in Miami in mid-November, a week earlier than usual. He is planning to play in a gentle exhibition tournament in Barbados at the end of November before making his return to competitive action in Brisbane a month later.

Back strengthening exercises and pool work is the only rehab work undertaken so far.

Serious question:

Do you just spread around everything you hear, no matter how unreliable (and frankly, unbelievable) it may sound, or are you just full of $hit and make it up?

^ Plus 3014 is unrealistic..not enough time...
An athlete of his calibre an in his prime of his career does not want to make stupid mistakes like to rush back into competition after any kind of surgery, which might results in a set back.
I am sure he will follow his doctors advises how to tackle his rehab, and that is the wise thing to do.

I hope it is the second. That shows SOME creativity.

By the way, I genuinely didn't write the second part merely to be offensive. However, if you're going to make a claim of such rumors, provide a source, especially given their outrageous nature. At least tell me who you heard it from (though that would hardly be reliable). As it stands, it is clearly made up, especially since there is a hidden shot at Nadal there (read between the lines, it's obvious). So yeah, if you're making something like this up, then you are full of $hit. I don't think I'm out of line saying that. Keep in mind, I did not say Mastoor is full of manure, I just asked if he is, to which I'm awaiting his reply, rather eagerly.

So Mastoor, where is your source? Hell, I'll even apologize and impose a self-ban for a week if you do have one.

Mastoor, it IS customary and requested around here that you provide a source for "rumors," or otherwise controversial claims. Please remember to cite sources.

Yes, by the end of the year, I will be heavily compensated for the four blogs I've written so far. Britbox promised a check that will roughly equal the prize money for the now deceased Serbian Open.

NADAL2005RG

Murray is probably the 3rd most popular tennis player in the world, so whether people like his style of tennis or not, the media attention he garners makes his presence very important to the popularity of tennis. Plus I enjoy when the draw comes out, seeing if Nadal gets Murray in his side of the draw. Given that they've never met in a slam final, a Nadurray slam final is one of the greatest things we've never seen but probably will see.

BS - You remember the Ferrari was partly conditional on twenty five blog posts dedicated to boosting the profile of Marko Djokovic. This site was his wildcard to global recognition.

^^:D lol marko djokovic needs a positive blog about him, I was checking his rank yesterday by coincidence and it has slipped below the 1'000 world rank mark..

if brokenshoelace can write a blog that can cast marko in a supportive and positive light..then he will deserve a Ferrari on top of the profits from the deceased Serbian open. :snigger

Andy was at Queen's Club yesterday to unveil his new racquet, the Head Graphene Radical.

He's planning to hit a few tennis balls next week. For the moment he's only doing pilates, light weights and some anti-gravity running.

He said he didn't want to go into his medical history but did admit that there had been ongoing problems with his back. Playing with pain was something he couldn't handle any longer.

Thanks for the update, Iona. :)

I hope the surgery has relieved the pain.

What do you hope to accomplish by posting messages like this?

Andy Murray has just undergone back surgery, and is working hard to get ready to return to the tour in January -- and this is all you can contribute?

He does not have two fluke slams. He has two slams which he fought hard for, and won deservedly, including what many consider to be the crown jewel of tennis tournaments -- Wimbledon.
