So, we have more Swiss Blokes than Spaniards in the semifinals at MC.

Shocking isn't it? My eyes always widen when I see all these Spanish flags next to each name and wonder how they do it? The US is supposed to be the leader in everything, but in tennis right now, we're stuck in the dark ages of history! We got nothing on the men's side and little going for us on the ladies'!

Great battle. I'm sorry that GG couldn't take his opportunities in the 2nd, but the tournament directors will be happy that Roger and Novak hung in there today.

Nole hung in there, Roger barely survived! :snigger :laydownlaughing

So true, I thought he'd lose but Roger's pushing 33 years old so cut the old fella some slack instead of laughing your bollocks off at him :p I think he's to be commended for pulling off the win. He would've lost in 2 quite often in that 0-30 5-6 2nd set scenario.

It is funny. Novak won the match and then immediately, Becker starts signing autographs.:laydownlaughing

Interesting Tidbits about Fed's win today:

1. It is his 950th match win (behind only to Connors and Lendl)
2. It is 50th time he made it to the SF of a Masters event.

Nice. Heard the first stat earlier from commentators but wasn't aware of the 2nd.

As of today, Rafa has 300 wins and 22 losses on clay.

Here is the complete list of his 16 losses until 2009 FO (stolen from the internet).

2002 Mallorca - Rochus d. Nadal (6-2, 6-2)
2003 Umag - Moya d. Nadal (6-4, 6-4)
2003 Hamburg - Gaudio d. Nadal (6-2, 6-2)
2003 Barcelona - Corettja d. Nadal (3-6, 6-2, 6-1)
2003 Monte Carlo - Coria d. Nadal (7-6, 6-2)
2003 Bastad - Lapentti d. Nadal (3-6, 6-3, 7-6)
2003 Stuttgart - Gonzalez d. Nadal (6-2, 3-6, 6-2)
2004 Palermo - Mutis d. Nadal (6-3, 6-3)
2004 Stuttgart - Ferrer d. Nadal (6-3, 6-7, 7-5)
2004 Bastad - Gaudio d. Nadal (6-2, 6-3)
2005 Buenos Aires - Gaudio d. Nadal (0-6, 6-0, 6-1)
2005 Valencia - Andreev d. Nadal (7-5, 6-2)
2007 Hamburg - Federer d. Nadal (2-6, 6-2, 6-0)
2008 Rome - Ferrero d. Nadal (7-5, 6-1)
2009 Madrid - Federer d. Nadal (6-4, 6-4)
2009 FO - Soderling d. Nadal (6-2, 6-7, 6-4, 7-6)

This means he must have lost 6 match on clay after that. I can remember his
three losses to Novak (1 each at MC, Rome and Madrid). I can also remember his
loss to Zeballos in Chile last year and his today's loss. What is the other one?

The overreaction from fans is hilarious. Nadal is apparently done after today's match. I'm no Nadal fan but he doesn't normally make 44 unforced errors on clay so that's ridiculous nonsense of the highest order. Check out some of the clowns here.

It is quite fun. Here is a good quote:

"Toni Nadal should retire as Rafa's coach and he should help his nephew look for a fresh coach, someone who truly understands Nadal's strengths and weaknesses (perhaps Wilander???). enough of Uncle Toni, he has reached his lowest level of incompetence after the glories of the past..."
