Lol this is rich coming from a Rafa fan. He was all about hugging Novak until the latter got great and started beating him. Nole is generally considered the most gracious player on tour. If he's more moody now it's pretty telling of his current state.

Very good points DarthFed. We have found recently that Wimbledon actually asked for the famous video Evolution of the handshake to be removed and it is no more on youtube but seems everyone but Moxie watched it.

Hmmm...so now he has to swing harder to generate the same power he did before to compensate. I am not sure if it will achieve the desired result but hopefully it works out for him.

I don't know the details, mate. I only posted what I remembered Nole said in the interview about it.

I hope Roger is watching this. Any reason to believe Nadal isn't winning the next 4 RG's at least? Fed needs to win a few more to protect his career from this clay grunt.

That was a massacre. A well deserved one, by the way.

The difference in intensity and quality of execution was so gigantic that it almost leave no space for any analysis. One thing I thought watching Thiem play yesterday is that his defensive slices were way to neutral and they would be eaten by Nadal. I guess that by 2006 people already new that a low ball is not a problem for him. To hope you don't get murdered by using it is wishful thinking at best.

Thiem got taken to pound town, that's what happened. I sadly tuned in for 10 minutes before work and that was about half the match. The evil one looks good, especially his backhand.
Thanks for the update.. I will watch the replay..

Extra credit to Cilic for battling through a sore knee to be in 3rd v. Kei. Nishikori had MPs in the 2nd. Cilic looked down and out, but he's really been fighting.

Obviously, you are entitled to your own opinion and your own tastes, but I do find this rather astonishing from someone who is enough of a tennis fan to post on tennis forums. I don't love Roger, but sometimes I like to turn off the sound and just watch him glide across the courts. It is a beautiful thing, and I can admire it. And watch it. Once my father told me to watch Michael Jordan play basketball, before anyone much knew who he was. He said it doesn't matter if you don't even care about basketball...it's as gorgeous as ballet. And he was right. For me, personally, I'd watch any athlete at the top of their game and enjoy it. If it's a game I love, doubly so.
I love tennis as much as anyone. That doesn't mean I have to love all styles of play. Watching Nadal play on clay has always been a bit of a torture for me. He was more interesting on the surface when he had to play Fed/Nole on the clay (even though he totally dominated them on it), Like I've said many times I admire Nadal greatly and his achievements that doesn't mean that watching him on clay is art or beautiful to watch.. It's just an opinion. Doesn't mean I don't love our sport.

Thank you. That's what I was trying to say to @MartyB above.
I get something out of it as I'm watching it for about 10 minutes. It is not interesting or compelling tennis or beautiful to watch for this tennis fan. People it is okay to be a tennis fan and a forum member and not find this brand of tennis to be something I'm not in love with. Cheers

I understand you because it happens to me the same watching Federer playing
