Glad that you agree with this despite being a Nadalite. Let me tell you, I will gladly admit that surface GOAT is definitely Rafa, despite being a Feddie. The dominance of Roger on grass is nothing compared to the level of dominance of Rafa on Clay. I would even argue against any Feddie who claims otherwise. But, I believe lot more Feddies agree with that assessment, compared to few Nadalites who are able to embrace the fact that Roger is GOAT (as of now at least).
For the record, I have said that Roger is the GOAT, for now at least. They are all still playing. Of course the Feddies concede clay to Rafa. How could you not? The tetchiness comes around the notion that Rafa could yet get closer. Roger has a wonderful and amazing career. I'm looking forward to @brokenshoelace's thread whereby we game the options for how the GOAT might be ultimately determined.

Hey Tennis Fans! It has been a while.

I see the age-old Fedal skirmishes are still at a fevered pitch! I'm afraid I don't have anything enlightening to add to that rehashing. What can you say about Nadal though. The Spaniard is indeed the King of Clay. I thought all the wear and tear would eventually catch up to him but here he still is beating the competition in routine fashion. That backhand of his was particularly lethal against Nishikori. Perhaps he's lost a step or two, but his ability to make shots and dictate on clay is still quite insane.

Ciao!

Yes, we concede clay to Rafa. But, perhaps you did not read carefully my post. I am conceding more than clay to Rafa. I am conceding surface GOAT to Rafa (in other words, I am admitting that Rafa's dominance of Clay is much stronger than Roger's dominance of Grass or for that matter any player's dominance of any one surface [at least as of now]).

Haha, just silly... Ferrer and Coria? And out of the other 3 only Stan counts clay as his best surface. I'd also say the most neutralizing and fair surface is hard courts and that has had the most competition.
No he isn't, as long as Fed doesn't go weak he will keep the far lesser talent at bay in this chase. Fed being soft towards his kids is my only worry but Mirka will be there to remind him there is still work to be done.
If Nadal was to win a second AO title would that do it for you in terms of co-goat, also the thing about hard court having the most competition, I half agree, but I would say that djokovic, federer, nadal Murray make it look like it has the most competition, then it might not, so its debatel.

No that would not do it for me. Quite frankly it is going to be slam count. If it's tied then Co-Goat would be appropriate as both have their big non-slam edges.

Also I'd say most elite or near-elite players count hard courts as their best surface in this day and age. Roger is a bit of an outlier in that regard as he is the best hard court and grass court player of all-time with the latter being his best surface.

Funny seeing as someone just called you a troll, don't be so quick to judge.

I'm not judging, I'm asking. Because making a statement like "Nadal will pass Federer in the next 3 years so we might as well call him GOAT now" is just silly. We don't know that he will and presenting that as a fact is ridiculous. So calling it a troll post is less offensive than calling it stupid.

well I did not mean it to be fact just my prediction On that could happen, which is that I should have said so I would not have someone tracking me.

In terms of Co-goat you might be right for now, so on to the hard court debate, nadal (clay) Djokovic (hard) Murray (grass) federer (grass) wawrinka (clay) del potro (hard) cilic(hard) as you can see of all the slam winners hard courts only just edges clay+grass 3-2.:yesyes::approved
