I'm a longtime Daria Saville fan. I knew a win today was a Longshot but still hoped.

Today aside though...she had a great tournament!

Well done to Belinda Bencic the 1st women's player into the s/finals ,too strong today, has yet to drop a set, for WC Daria Saville, 61 62
Daria can be proud of her q/final appearance and build on the positives for her next tournament.
Note Daria Saville will reach #127 in the ranking,6 weeks ago she was #627 in the rankings, remember she had a whole year off after she had achilles surgery.

Seems like Osaka has taken some positives after the Indian Wells. Hope she can get back to top of her game. When she is at her best she is very hard to beat, at least on HC. Her clay and grass slam results are only R3. I have a feeling she might improve it this year if her depression gets better.

Naomi Osaka d Danielle Collins (9) 62 61

Naomi has reached her first Miami Open semi final, she has not lost a set reaching the s/final.
Naomi proved too strong today in her match, firing 13 Aces and her return game was 'on song' she also committed few UFE
Danielle had to have a MTO in the first set with a 'neck issue' it really affected her serve. She wasn't allowed to get into the match at all.

Osaka on clay has to have better footwork for starters and on grass she needs a better transition game to the net
I have always wanted her to play doubles,it would help her on grass with her volley and net game which she lacks at times

Ladies QFs Wednesday March 30th,

Paula Badosa (5) vs Jessica Pegula (16)

If Badosa wins this match she will reach a career high of No 2 ranked player.Pegula has shown some good form in Miami, since making the q/finals at the AO.
This will be their first meeting.
Going on form I am picking a Badosa win.

Iga Swiatek (2) vs Petra Kvitova (28)

Iga,winner of 14 straight wins, whose form is in red hot at present.Petra has found some form in Miami, her form since the AO this year where she went out in the 1st Rd has been sub par,she has had wrist problems.Petra said she likes challengers and is looking forward to playing Iga for the first time
Can Iga control one of the biggest hitters of the WTA tour in Petra? I think she can,I am picking Iga to win..

Paula Badosa retires after just 5 games. No idea what is wrong.
Viral illness?...Paula felt ill on Monday, during her match, could not recover 100% for the q/final.

Jessica Pegula wins by retirement 4-1 1st set over Paula Badosa.
Bad luck for Paula if she won this match she would have gone to No 2 ranked player ( Paula felt ill during her match on Monday and sad to say she could not recover 100% for today's match)
Jesica Pegula is through to the semi final in Miami
