Who is going to give him a tough time then? Bellucci? Mayer?
He is ranked number 5 which means he gets to face a top 4 player in the quarters. Guess who he got: his name is not Djokovic, Murray, or Federer.
For Rafa, the only one better than Stan would have been Fed, especially after a layoff, but still, not bad. His initial section is soft, and Raonic's road to get to him is potentially tougher. So is Stan's, who could see Querrey early, who is playing well of late, then maybe Kyrgios or Isner. I think Nishikori is the other one with the tougher opening section. All in all, Rafa's road is not bad, especially if he brings the form he was showing at IW. All draws look soft when you're thinking of Djokovic, but I'm hoping Thiem gets to him, just because it would be interesting to see the kid play him (they played once in Shanghai 2014,) and Lopez has a hard time with Nole, esp. in slower conditions. And young Zverev could reach him, but he'll have to make another deep run. Again, it would be interesting to see them play, as they never have.
