I too think USO will likely be his best chance early on. So many variables in play to win the AO and it requires the focused athlete to be in the best physical and mental conditioning.

Oh, he did it! Fantastic job by Carlos. He leads Tsitsipas 2-0 in the h2h.

Just because he's Spanish doesn't make him a clay player. His game suits HCs.
I made that comment not because he is Spanish player, but because I want my favorite tennis player to win 2 more RG before Alcaraz wins 1 RG.

He's rounding into shape to be ready by the USO.. And didn't he make the QFs last year, or whatever, when he last beat Stefanos? As I've said, just because he's Spanish, doesn't make him a clay player. I don't expect a lot from him at Wimbledon this year, or maybe ever, but the USO should be a good option. Even this year.

Understood. But of the young players who are worrisome, and he is one, clay isn't his especial surface. However, I think he will be in the spoilers category. Luckily, he'll rank high enough not to bother Rafa in early rounds.

TBH, I'm a bit stunned. I thought Alcaraz could win, but not in straights. Tsitsipas is joining the list of players who are going to wish they'd done more before the better, younger kids ran them off the road.

Never say never, remember Rafa had a weak HC game but he worked on it and has won AO Wimbledon plus US Open.I think this kid has a game for faster surfaces, with maturity he will do it.I am glad he is well behaved and his debut in Miami reminds me of Rafa at this event as a teenager. This is his announcement that he is a force to reckon with.

It's interesting because right now he seems like a better HC player than Clay court player, but the two titles he has in his career are on Clay.

Well done Jannik defeating Nick K 76(3) 63

Nick K can only focus for a couple of matches in tournaments,I must of been delusional thinking Nick K could defeat Sinner,I just went on his previous match and also Sinner's last match.
I guess most of us want to see Nick perform better because we know he is able to, but again looks like emotions get to him and he is back to his usual self.

Yes sad to say,he will be in for a big fine abusing Carlos Bernades....calling him a F....king Turd as he left the court.Nick is his own worst enemy,he did this even as a junior,so he really hasnt grown up at all

Tsitsipas just got reseted to a factory defaults by 18 year old kid. Everyone seems to like this spanish guy, there is a feel like he could really win a slam pretty much soon, like next USO or AO. His game is fearless and is enjoyable to watch.

From what I am hearing his ankle is playing up

I'm quite proud of both players! This has been their year; Kecmanović taking Novak's spot in the AO draw and getting to the 4th round and Fritz winning his 1st Masters event last week! Love the Serb's "slice" backhand! That was what I preferred to do unless passing shot was needed! I can watch this match all night long for some reason! They're playing as we like to coin the phrase, "playing within themselves!" It's not constant overplaying of shots; well not too much of it! Both rankings going up fast! :face-with-hand-over-mouth: :astonished-face::face-with-tears-of-joy::yawningface:
