What time is the final , eastern standard time please

It's not reliable considering they started semi's a half hour late today; my TCC shows final should start 8 pm EDT! It all depends on what I hear about the match determining if I bother! Enjpy!! :popcorn  :dodgy:

Thanks Fiero

Poor TB by Troicki. Some decent serving by Nadal in the game at 5-6 and the TB. The birds are enjoying the weather there.

Complete serve fest. Nadal serving really well but his baseline game is way too shaky.

Well it's either unfair or your eyes see things differently as a Nadal fan 'cos Murat already stated the clown version of Monfils turned up (see below) as is so often the case. And what you described there may only be one incidence but he lost serve thanks to that so clearly he was not playing sensibly or well.

Did you watch the match? If not, shut up. You don't see me analyzing Monfils' performance because I didn't watch the match.

Firstly, thanks for telling me to shut up. Always nice. Secondly, Murat stated Monfils was his usual clown self which pretty much tells you which version of Monfils turned up. I watched highlights and saw plenty of his usual fire the crowd up antics like jumping and diving but again, thanks for telling me to shut up.

Oh get over it, you called me a smartass in the other thread. It's OK. At least I'm doing the board a favor with my request.

With respect to Murat, he could very well be right and if I had to guess I'd say he is since he knows what he's talking about and Monfils is the subject at hand. But providing analysis based on what another posted said in a match you didn't watch is baffling to say the least.

Not as baffling as you failing to read that I watched the highlights so I'm able to form my own opinion. :cover

Rafa won 7-6, 6-3. Nice job. He's certainly found his serve.

Serve looking sharp. Movement looking sharp. Return looking decent.

The worrying thing is the god awful slice in which he immediately concedes the offensive the moment he plays it (a few years back he had managed to use it really well on grass), and his inability to turn defense into attack off the backhand. If the opponent hits an aggressive shot, Nadal is unable to muster up a decent response on that side.

Positive signs though.

Congratulations to Rafa on winning Stuttgart. While no one was writing off Rafa, no one (atleast not me) expected him to win this event on grass. He had decent competition (ignoring Baghdatis) for a 250 event and he improved with time which clearly means he is making progress. It would be interesting to see how much all of this helps Rafa at Wimby. It would surely be helping him to some extent.

Congrats Rafa! :clap
In the second set his serve has not given any option to his opponent (main weapon in this surface, we should ask Kyrgios and his 37 aces in Wimbledon ) which means to be a very good sign though he has to do some more adjustments but I think it's a very good result having been his first tournament on grass
And also congrats to Troicki, fhe has played a very good tourney

Did Rafa get a car also?

Yep, they asked him if he has space in his garage for to keep so many cars and he answered (joking) that he will have to make another garage ;)

Vamos Rafa!

Congratulations on another grass court tournament victory. First since 2010. Serve looked good (outside the double faults), and the forehand had a lot more on it.

This 250 points will essentially be counted as 500 points for the purposes of seeding in Wimbledon. So, Rafa is pretty much out of the danger zone of dropping below 12 in the seeding. Deliciano lost early here. Tsonga is not playing due to injuries. So, among the players ranked below Rafa only Grigor is expected to move ahead due to grass court formula. Rafa should get a seeding of at least 11. So, he will have a reasonable draw until the 4th round in Wimby.
