He who lives by the sword...

Nicky's first serve slayed Federer, then he faced the first-serve gorilla, who bumped him off. Hoping now that Berdy bumps off Isner, faces Rafa in the semis, and Rafa gets Nishi in the final, with Rafa showing that last year's final (first part of) was just a blip.

Watch all the sudden reassessments and revisions of RG estimates happen after this... :popcorn

Nick wasn't up for this match at all! His body language showed it from what little I saw of it! If he had any emotional energy, he would known Isner's just as vulnerable to "first strike" tennis with his lack of descent movement on the court! Did he even try? :s :nono :cover :dodgy:

Why? Just out of curiosity...

Because I cannot stand Kyrgios. I made it clear yesterday, if you paid attention.

Paid attention to what?

To my comment, during his match. I don't care about what ever he will achieve in tennis, I do not like his attitude.

I didn't see your comment during the match. Actually, I like his attitude, if by "attitude" we both mean that he's fearless when he plays legends and he's tough in the clutch...

Whatever rocks your boat. He is an arrogant punk.

That's what I like about him. He doesn't defer or doff the cap. There's a whole bunch of clowns about five years older than Nick who are the generation who'll win only one slam between the lot of them. Youngsters need arrogance to break through...

Damn, I'll admit:

I can not believe Federer lost to Kyrgios... can someone please give him a 6x1 6x2 lesson and prove that I am right to think all the hype is way off the mark (not that I need to be proven right, as I always am).

He beat Nadal on grass so why not the arrogant old Swiss on clay ? Kyrgios seems to be a good player he's not afraid by his opponent's reputation I like that

I still don't like him. The attitude is ok? Yes, it is, but he is not the first one to enter a court with it. And big servers usually are like that.

And beating Nadal on grass is not exactly an achievment... and it seems beating Federer on clay these days either.

[edit] Ok, I'm being picky. Let the guy be.

All of this out of a win over Bolelli?

Nope. Out of nearly 40 years of watching the game. I think this season will shape up fairly similar to last, on clay, with the same result at RG...

After having two Wimbledon titles beating Nadal on grass is not an achievement? are you kidding me? :laydownlaughing

I admit that I don't have as much experience as you do, but I am fairly certain that the North American hard court season will be thrilling (Maybe not the result, but definitely better than the one we had last year). Wimbledon not that much, unless Fed makes his statement. And last but not least, everything post USO, where the Serb with the magic backhand just wins everything.

Well let's defend the clay patch first, then after this? A wide open field with virtually no points to defend, and thousands to gain... ;)

Andy's looking very good, and he's enjoying himself on the clay this year.
