I was watching the Rafa's match highlights, very well played at the net and the serve by Johnson, a good test for Rafa

all these crazy night owl up with the moorhen dead of night matches..

any fans left?, players can't be too happy either. "yippee its 3am and I'm still playing tennis" said no-one ever.

"Yippee, I get paid loads of money to play tennis for 3 hours." And they should get over themselves, if they have a problem with that.

Rationalizing? Someone's wearing "rose-colored" glasses! Johnson's a solid player and will have a moderately successful career, but lets not exaggerate his weapons; there are few if any! If he ever even takes a set off the top echelon, I'll be shocked! Isner has proved at least with his serve he has a chance! There's absolutely nothing I saw that would make me think Johnson will "ever" do anything memorable, historic, or even mildly shocking when it comes to tennis! Sorry! Even Querrey has only gotten so far with his game and he keeps sliding back when he hits the top 20! I see nothing to make me think Johnson will excel past where he is "right now;" akin to Donald, Ryan, and maybe even Jack! Sock probably has more an upside and takes chances in his matches and plays a mean game of doubles! :popcorn  :dodgy:

It's no necessary to go to the extremes. I've never said that he has done something memorable, excellent or superb but today watching the highlights without any glasses I saw him making some good shots at the net which I don't remember to see it by Isner with all his torpedos serves. He knew that it was the only way to make some points against Nadal and I think he did pretty well

Damn, I'll admit:

I can not believe Federer lost to Kyrgios... can someone please give him a 6x1 6x2 lesson and prove that I am right to think all the hype is way off the mark (not that I need to be proven right, as I always am).

He beat Nadal on grass so why not the arrogant old Swiss on clay ? Kyrgios seems to be a good player he's not afraid by his opponent's reputation I like that

Grigor is in too. Grigor played a great match against Nick in IW, let's hope for a rematch...

Isner took the first. A hangover for Nick?

Rafa getting thrashed 40-15 in the first game, on serve... :popcorn

So you hope to see Grigor upsetting Rafa?

Because the only way a rematch can occur, if that happens

Dagnabit, you're right! I thought Grigor and Nick/Isner faced off next. Nah, I don't want that rematch, I want Rafa v Nick... :devil

There he goes; Nadal's up 6-2, 5-1 and there he is kvetchin' about a line call! No one ticks me off more than this jerk! Why he's so universally loved is beyond me! :nono  :cover  :dodgy:

Because he competes for every point as if he's losing, even when he's up 6-2, 5-1... ;)

At the end of the Rafa match, I heard one of the worst sentences in tennis: "Back to Kyrgios/Isner."
