If a person is over 20 and in charge of their own decisions, and old enough to be a professional in a sports and sign million dollar contracts with sponsors, he is not a child. He is a poorly raised, poorly taught, immature and egocentric moron who thinks everything evolves around him. It's all about him and he doesn't care who he hurts or steps on. The family has shown enough for the public to know that his help is not coming from there. If he can't control himself and be a good representative of a professional tennis player, the ATP will have to step in. If he is not willing to abide by those rules, he is free to quit and do something else. Not so difficult to understand.

That would be fine if the ATP wasn't so selective in exerting that authority! You have players smashing rackets with impunity; not even a warning from the umpire these days! There's Rafa who doesn't like being called out for time violations so Carlos is no longer allowed to work his matches! Andy has running dialogues, swearing and ranting to the top of his lungs! I could go on, but most are too concerned about some kid who muttered some comments under his breath! :cover  :puzzled :nono  :dodgy:

Those comments directly harmed the reputation of three people, two who weren't even involved in the match. If you can't see the difference, and keep excusing him for "being a kid" then we'll have to agree to disagree.

If anyone gets hurt, it's was the "school girl" commentators that keep rehashing this over and over! Social media is more responsible than him since he was talking to himself; no one in particular! Those were overly sensitive mikes that picked up his stupid remarks! All concerned need to move on IMO! :dodgy:

The thing with Nick is, don't say you've apologised if you haven't. This kinda shenanigans makes me wonder if the kid is a compulsive a-hole, or if he lives in Cloud Cuckooland. I question his intelligence. Add that to his other stuff, and I'd have serious questions about his future in the game...

After listening to his brother, you still have doubts? :cover :puzzled :nono  :dodgy: :p

We get great comedy out of the homie bro, but Nick is a tragedy waiting to happen...

Nick Kyrgios handed suspended 28-day ban for Stanislas Wawrinka slur

Following a review, it has been announced that Kyrgios has been fined a further $25,000 (£15,845) and will serve a 28-day suspension from all ATP competitions if he breaches rules relating to improper conduct within the next six months.
Bravo ATP(I said last week when Roger says that he should receive a stiff penalty, something will happen.) My question is two part will it be enforced immediately and will Nick do Stan the honor of meeting with him to provide him the opportunity to address Nick's comments face to face(meaning letting Stan finally get an opportunity to handle his Business).

Personally, he needs to stay as far away from Stan as possible. He already has egg on his face because he lied about apologizing. He should just take his punishment on the chin and keep steppin!

That's my point because I would like to have Stan be the one who should administer the "punishment" to Nick.

According to the #homiebro, that's exactly what happened. Lucky for Stan that #homiebro wasn't there (according to himself :snicker )

The gift that keeps giving. Nick's bro gets involved, talking pseudo-tough guy stuff, prolly on twitter. I wonder if he used the #haters thingy, that always gets the homies bouncing their low rides, or whatever. :popcorn

"He put his hands on nick - grabbed him and said a whole bunch of abusive s---. I've studied law and that s--- is abuse bro. Lucky we aren't pressing charges.
"The p---k is lucky I wasn't there or he would have been withdrawing from the next few tournaments."

How many here think that Kyrgios can behave himself for six months? :dodgy:

I don't see it, nick seems not to have an off switch, I don't see him lasting 6 months.:s

I don't think that achieves anything. Let the ATP deal w/ it. Stan needs to grow up, stop pouting about it and move on as well.

Might be doable considering the off season covers about 2.5 months during which time he cannot misbehave in ATP tourneys. Also, the remaining 3.5 months is not in one stretch. But, I will still keep my finger crossed.

Actually, after some thinking, I think this is a great punishment scheme devised by ATP. This is actually lot better than banning him for 28 days and fining a further $25,000 outright. If that was done, Kyrgios would go through the punishment, but probably will never truly reform. If instead ATP had simply let him go with an empty non-concrete threat of punishment, Kyrgios would not be taking the ATP seriously. So, this is a nice suspended suspension which gives Kyrgios an opportunity to redeem himself.

p.s. Whether he is up to it and will actually do so is another matter.:devil

Kyrgios got a code violation in Beijing for hitting a ball into the crowd in frustration after getting broken. Now, he is just one more code violation away from a one month ban.
Perhaps because of that or perhaps otherwise, the referee did not give him any more code violation in the same match even though Kyrgios was foul mouthed.

Should we have a poll on whether Kyrgios will get the 1 month ban soon.

Also, what happens if Kyrgios gets the next code violation in Bercy. Will the ATP pull the ridiculous
stunt of "banning" Kyrgios from any ATP tourneys in Decemeber. :laydownlaughing

For the record, the incident happened in Tokyo.
I guess this guy does not get it, he is calling the media "disgraceful" :puzzled

I think if we had a poll, most of us would say he's bound to be banned. Typical punk, the kid might deliberately get himself "banned" from all events in December to spite the ATP. I watched clips of the recent exo with Rafa, Pete and the rest and thought, Pete would be the man who'd help him best. Sampras had the rare ability to reduce things to their essentials. He'd quicken Nick's maturing process...

Sometime ago they banned Potato Starch and Brocoli for life for match fixing. But, they have now reversed the course on appeal. They have let go of Potato Starch completely and given some minor slap in the wrist for Brocoli. This "crime and punishment" with ATP is a joke and the height of the joke is ATP directly playing a role in protecting Agassi.

Put yourself in his position; every misstep is chronicled, dissected, and discussed ad infinitum! I wouldn't mind it so much if there was some consistency! Some can get away with murder while others can be relentlessly punished for a minor indiscretion! I'm not condoning Kyrgios' behavior, but we're talking about "free speech" here! It's not against the law to be a jerk; if that were the case, my entire tower would be under constant lockdown! Sometimes people have to see what they're doing when it comes to "trying someone" in public as if they're a criminal; starts bordering on bullying IMO! He's a kid! LET IT GO! :puzzled :nono :cover

It is his undoing. What he did to Stan was disgusting, from there on the magnifier will be on him for years to come. He will have to behave like a saint for a long period, then he might be given a pass.
