If this post referenced a "Spaniard" as much as it referenced a Swiss, it would be deleted and sent to Guantanamo so fast your head would spin lol.

Is the "don't name players by name" rule only effective if it starts with an R and ends with an L?

First off, the rule came in after this post.

Secondly, the point of my post was to show the double standards in picking Spaniards only, in order to slur one particular Spaniard (starts with an R, ends with an L) and ignoring exceptional bouts of stamina in others (starts with an R and ends with an R). If there's to be a line of "inquiry" - which consists of only lies, misinformation and malice - then at least let's be equal opportunity in this.

I believe that Federer and Nadal operate with the same levels of integrity and cleanliness within the sport, and should be respected as such...

Haha and all references to the aforementioned posts were deleted except for your response. I thought it was funny.

You know a lot of you used to be a lot more easy going, before this era of defensiveness started.

I'm easy going, brother, but you'd want to have seen all the posts before mine. My posts were written to point out that there was a dishonesty and inconsistency in the way some posters were discussing the topic. Since Rafa's closed in on 17, we've seen a lot of this stuff, and it got out of hand until the mods wisely ruled on it.

Fact is, I wouldn't have a problem with my posts being removed. Mods have asked me before to tone things down and I have, without a murmur. I don't see it as being like living in North Korea or China or Russia. People who do, should go live there and then come back and tell us the difference. ;)

On this topic, we've learned more since the guidelines, which is what the OP asked for, in the first place...

I'm not sure there are many easy going people left on this board lol. Can't joke around, and can't rib people without someone getting worked up.

Not to mention, I wasn't attacking your point of view, or discouraging you from expressing it. I just had a laugh that, after the, "don't name names" decree went out, a post with Roger still existed, but no mention of Nadal was left in the thread.

It was humorous. Or at least it was to me.

... or maybe Rafa fans getting a bit twitchy because the 17 isn't quite in the bag as they originally suspected. The truth is probably somewhere in between.

It's humorous, brother, but to be honest, I didn't read back on the thread and so I didn't know whose posts were deleted. Obviously mine shimmer and gleam with wisdom and so should be preserved for posterity, which I can live with... :snigger

Fair enough. But I was reading through this thread for the first time an hour ago, obviously after a fair amount of deleted posts took place, and your post, and it's subsequent non-deletion, made me laugh.

I certainly wasn't intending to pick a fight, or disrespect you.

And I certainly wasn't "coming out of the wood work to spam."

Just to make it look like they're doing something about drug testing in tennis they give a 1 year ban to an 18 year old for taking ecstasy :nono

http://www.adelaidenow.com.au/news/south-australia/asada-test-leads-to-oneyear-ban-for-south-australian-tennis-player-brad-mousley-for-taking-ecstasy-tablet/story-fni6uo1m-1227031248817?nk=b9bb5f3cd9afbcd830a8d527c196f502

And to make matters worse, it was another silent ban as was the case with Cilic. This is from the link above "The ban will be backdated to May 30 this year, when Mousley accepted a provisional suspension, meaning he will be eligible to compete again on May 30, 2015."

Withdrew from a match on May 30th with a supposed wrist injury and they've banned him till May 30th, 2015. The lack of transparency is a joke and these silent bans are not the slightest bit good for the sport. Clearly the wrist injury was bs.

Silent ban?:puzzled

NADAL2005RG's silent ban was revoked and he's back with a vengeance. Of course it helps to be a Nadal fan. Preferential treatment on this hallowed board.

The ban on all previously banned users was lifted. There was no preferential treatment here. If anything you should take note that of the tiny handful of users ever banned, one was a Nadal fan.

Wada brings in ban on xenon and argon, but has no test. Not good news for tennis but many believe players may have been using this for years now because it's not possible to test for either.

I could adjust it to keep it open if you'd like.

we could have the poll open indefinitely maybe..

everyone can only vote once, so newbies might want to vote (even if only 10 have voted so far),

Good idea. I set it never to expire.
