Other than Federer-Wawrinka, this tournament was a atrocious...and that's not even talking about the final fiasco. Now it's just a complete disaster, and that's no hyperbole. Nevertheless, maybe THIS YEAR's WTF was a bad advertisement for men's tennis, not the WTF in general, which I'm sure was the point.

Can't argue with any of this. Welcome back :) By the way, where's Moxie these days?

Tignor been reading me again. I like his use of initials, though.

WTE - Worst Tournament Ever.

It happens. We'll move on, hopefully to better things next year...

It will be still held at O2 Arena in London next year, but they have other offers, mostly from Asia. They are seriously reviewing all offers and ATP is also considering changing the surface. I read that earlier today and now I can't remember where. If I come across it again, I will post a link, but surely others must have read something about it?

Sometimes you get tournaments like this. It sucks, but you just can't help it. At the end of the day, you're relying on 8 people who have travelled all around the world for the duration of the year to put on a good show. That's a big ask when you think about it. And not everyone delivered, and that just comes with the unpredictability of tennis or any sport in general.

So yeah, far from a good tournament, but we've still nonetheless been blessed with some great highlights this year! :D

I too read it. They have shortlisted four cities in case they decide to move it out of London.
All south American cities lost as ATP felt, they don't have enough money to spend on the event.
Two are from China and Two are from middle east.

They said that they are "open-minded" about rotating surfaces too.

Hi, federberg! Thanks for asking. Been really inundated with family stuff, but hopefully back for the new season.

I will say this however, the current quality of the top 10 beyond the usual suspects IS weak. I kinda chuckled when people were so excited this year about Wawrinka, Nishikori and Cilic. Two of them won majors and they deserve props, but on an average match-to-match basis, the tour isn't in great shape if those 3 are "the best of the rest." Sorry, give me Hewitt, Roddick, Davydenko and Nalbandian any day of the week. Also, give me Soderling and Del Potro any day of the week.

Generally agree with this, except none of the people you mention (outside of Delpo, who I am a big fan of) have been in the top for some time. Stan and Kei are much more interesting than the perpetual punching bags who have been the best of the rest for the last couple years.
