It's the best news, fashionista, I hope now he plays a sensible schedule to end the season, gets in a few matches, doesn't overdo things, and starts again fit and hungry in January... :)

Thank goodness he has finally come to his senses....

I have followed him since 2004 and I swear he has nearly driven me into a Nursing Home before my time..;) with his playing schedules etc.

Exactly! At least following Pete there were no injuries to worry about. I think when rafa retires I'll take up following cricket, or maybe boxing, something mild and tender by comparison!

He's capable of causing this response within a single match! I never paced until I started watching Rafa matches.

You should measure the distances, you could march forty miles during a typical 3-setter.... :snigger

What a circus? Tiger replaces Elephant.

Also, is roger going to play in all 12 matches and collect 12 million or just stick to
half the schedule of IPTL and collect 6 million?

So, the 6 million (or 10% of it ) goes now to Africa instead of India?

Stupid move for Roger. He needs to get ready for 2015 as that might be his last chance for a good year. After almost having a good 2014 he should be resting as much as possible for one last push at majors.

I thought when Rafa bailed they'd all start to go, not that Roger would step in. They must think there is something worthwhile about this other that just an easy payday, right? Why would Roger agree to it, when you kind of assume he turned it down before?

I have real doubts he's only getting what Rafa was offered. Those guys wouldn't have had any negotiating power to speak of. They would have had to offer him silly money to make him add this to his schedule at the last moment

I too thought once Rafa withdraws, then Novak will withdraw and there will be a
chain reaction. However, Mahesh seems to have business Savvy. Rafa must have told
Mahesh long ago (at least certainly after he was forced to withdraw from USO) that
he is not planning to play in IPTL (this year at least). Mahesh would have requested
him to not to make it public until he figures out a way to deal with it. Once they
were able to get Roger in, the announcement comes in.

No one would buy that Rafa withdrew at 8:00 a.m. today and Roger signed in
at 8:01 a.m.

I think they hurled a massive sack of gold at Roger, but nothing he hasn't refused before. I'm surprised at this. Will he now pull out of the exo that's scheduled with Stan?

Hard to say. At least, he cannot upset someone else if he did so. After all he only
arranged it.

Did Roger ever play in India in any exhibition match at least?

The only reason he could be playing is, to tour a new place as a top player. This is precisely what he seems to enjoy at this stage in his career, meeting people across the world who love him. He toured Latin America sometime back. He clearly knows it's not going to last long.

He loves being loved, alright. I'm glad he's going to India. I hope he then goes back to Switzerland and plays against Stan on Christmas Day! :lolz:

But I'm no longer rooting for the Indian Aces... :laydownlaughing
