Tomorrow, the real IW starts.

In Stadium 1, we have Andy at 12:30 followed by Roger and then Rafa for a night cap.

Fed seems to have the easiest opponent tomorrow in PHM.

I have already given this alert in Rankings thread, but for the sake of wider audience.......

If Fed wins IW, he becomes #4 in Rankings instantaneously.

For quite a while it was thought that it would be tough for Fed to get into top 4
before Wimbledon. Now it seems somewhat within reach.

Also, since he skipped Miami last year, even if he does not make it to #4 after
IW, he seems to be almost sure to make it after Miami.

Marray's serve is pretty good. Didn't watch the match but I remember his Wimbledon doubles matches and he has a decent serve, frequently hitting 130mph.

But his serve is lackluster during this comeback. Not as much zip and too many DF's

I think Front was referring to Marray and you are talking about Murray.

^ I sure was. Hence why I typed Marray and Wimbledon doubles lol. But then again, maybe this is a comeback for him as well as Murray.

I expect mad traffic around here tomorrow. Big players on offer. This tournament is turning out to be a bit of a drama. Lots on the line, plenty of sub-plots. :)

I was going to give my happy-sad breakdown for the Men's thread like I did for the Women's thread, but the most I can say here is I'm happy for Feliciano. I agree that for the Men the real IW starts tomorrow!

Fedrinka have an interesting match in the 2nd Round also.

Indian Wells Practice Session Report:

Nadal:

Practiced FULL OUT with Robredo, playing sets.

Inside out forehand was brutal. After Robredo left, Nadal was fed
forehands and was ripping them with FULL grunt.

His serve was accurate, and his 2nd serve had lots action, with the gritty court and hot conditions.

Joker:

Practiced 2 hours today. !:45 with Popsicle. Nole was dead serious, no smiles or joking.
Started off with erratic timing. Not happy with the backhand. Complained about dropping
short and problems with accuracy down the line, possible issues with tension. He had major issues serving into the sun.

Marion Vadja in toe fed him back hands for 15 minutes and he really picked it up.

Tsonga:

Hit for 90 minutes with Escude. Worked on the back hand for more than half that duration. Was clearly trying for accuracy down the line and angles cross court. Escude placed empty tennis cans as targets in said locations.

Berdych:

Cool as a cucumber, hitting his spots with the serve, just crushing ground strokes.

Hewitt:

Hit for 2 hours with Peter L. Very, very clean ball striking. Worked on return of serve extensively, with Peter serving from mid court.

Pics to follow.

Nice! Keep 'em coming! How many days will you attend IW, LB? Also, can you tell us about the new courts, the expanded facilities? Do you think there's any truth to the rumor that IW will push to host the USOpen?
