Nice! Keep 'em coming! How many days will you attend IW, LB? Also, can you tell us about the new courts, the expanded facilities? Do you think there's any truth to the rumor that IW will push to host the USOpen?

I am going to have a TON of pix, so I will upload to a gallery and link.

The new Stadium 2 is nice. It has a brand new Nobu restaurant in it..very prominently displayed.

The newer facilities are ok. The new food vendors in stadium 1 plain suck.

On the HUGE plus side, 2 charging stations, cash machines, and more practice courts. Speaking of which also watched Raonic, Dr Ivo, The Dog, Simon Says, Delbonis (uh, didnt he lose?)

A great match for me was Hanescu just squeaking by Robert. I had not seen Robert play in person before, and at 33, he was a joy to watch. A beautiful game. Victor's straight ahead meat and potatoes power baseline game was just a tad too solid for the flashy Robert. 6-4 in the 3rd.

Funny you mention the US Open. IW is becoming a bit more like the Open with a lot catering to VIPs and non stop expansion.

As an ex New Yorker, I can tell you the US Open will NEVER, EVER leave the East Coast. Larry Ellison is a rich bastardo...but not not richer than New York City!!!!!

That's a relief! :clap

The US Open is finally one day supposed to get some roofs for courts. So no one is planning for it to leave New York. But don't hold your breath waiting for those roofs! http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2013-08-15/u-s-open-tennis-to-have-roofs-over-two-stadiums-by-2018-event.html

For the ladies...

I overheard lustful cries and honest to goodness swooning over Ryan Fratboy Harrison, Rafa, and the #1 lady killer on tour, Grigor D. Seriously, I saw grown women with tears in their eyes.

He looked immaculate, and has physically progressed over last year significantly.

Ok..back to the real world...

I am most interested in how he is going to advance over the next 3 years. We have to remember he is only 20, and in my opinion, is probably further along than Roger was at 20.

No, Grigor is already 22 and he will turn 23 later this year. He is trailing Roger at his age.

Ah, thanks for the correction. I don't know why I had the number 20 in my head. Then he is trailing, however I think it goes without saying the level of competition is unparalleled, and miles ahead of 2001/2002. and the bar is set so much higher now.

And speaking of eye candy for the ladies, there's a very high handsome-quotient in the Haas-Chardy match. Some entertaining tennis, too. Haas just got the opener, 6-3.

I have to admit, I have a man-crush on Herr Hass. A dude that handsome shouldn't be so good at tennis (or anything). :nono

Anybody knows who has withdrawn?
I am seeing Donskoy as a Lucky loser making it to R3

EDIT: Never mind, he replaced Youzhny.

This is what a call a "lucky" loser indeed. He made it directly into the R2 and now after defeating Russell, he finds himself in R3.

Great game by Rosol. The dropshot was magic.

Blind linesperson. Murray's last serve was well wide.

A lot of slop from Rosol along with the great shots and poor serving last few matches I've seen from him. Of course as I'm typing this he hits an ace :D

Muzza rights the ship a bit. 6-3 in the 2nd. We're heading to the decider.
