Another surprise yesterday late in the night. RBA was eliminated by Nishioka.

He used up all he had in Mexico taking out Nadal, Wawrinka, Isner, & Zrevev! That's yeoman work & he should be proud of himself!

People are speaking as Kyrgios played a bad match but I saw it and he was his usual self. PK by his turn stayed focused all match, gave nothing for free and deservedly won, with some very good shot making in the process, specially his beautiful backhand. At one point Kyrgios returned a high bouncing kick second serve with all the power he could (and those balls he can fire with a lot of power), only to PK block it back to the court with a wicked angle to a winner, using a marvelous flick of the wrist in his back hand. At that moment I thought: "well, and the narrative of the match will be that the super talent was not focused and just beaten by a mere hard working guy. Oh, the irony". Not to discredit Kyrgios, but there is a lot of talent elsewhere too.

Fed almost fed a bagel, but finally had to be content with a breadstick. 6-1 in first set to TMF.

Nishi clinches the TB and the match after wasting two MPs on his own serve.

GoOutQuick fights hard and wins a game so early in the second set. (three aces in the 10 minute long game).

GoOutQuick moves from Carb diet to Protein diet. Already won two games. More worryingly he is serving quite a few aces.

Gets it back.

Yes, Pete is there. Evidently he watched Novak last night, as well.

Federer's level dropped considerably. If Gojowczyk where a bit more consistent he would have won that set already.
