Roger is the secretariat of tennis--he plays like a tremendous machine.

Give Sock some credit for "sacking up" a bit in this second set and making it interesting.

Actually one of his worst matches of the year IMO but it's still not bad. Sock has done nothing on returns

When I tuned in in the middle of the first set I had the feeling Sock has given up on it, he looked desiniteredted.
That is what I detest the most, when they do not fight once they fall behind.
Now he looks more into it.

I'll certainly say the match should be over by now. Sock looks like a deer in the headlights but somehow he's still hanging in there. Better not be another Dubai!

I didn't watch the first set, but Roger looks a bit listless in the second set - like he's lost his focus and taken the foot off the gas, sort of like what we've seen in many matches in the last few years. He needs to take Sock seriously.

Jack is playing like he has nothing to lose, which gives him a chance to actually win. Roger needs to up the notch again.

Fed got hot the last few games of the first set, aside from that this is the worst match I've seen him play this year including his loss to Donskoy. It's definitely the worst he's been off his backhand and ROS

He's definitely dropped his level a bit

I'm trying to relax and enjoy a good match but instead he's starting to stress me out

It appears Roger's return of serve has improved. He is making returns deeply and accurately, allowing him to go forward. Or the servers are just not good enough.

More like the latter.

Sock's return is just terrible this match. That's what's held him back

Sock needs to work on his BH, all his errors in the TB came from that side.

Not pretty but we will take it. An underrated factor with Roger is he plays night matches at all these events up until the semis or finals. That works against him IMO
