Don't think so. Larry Ellison is a billionaire who helped start Oracle. He bought the tournament about 4 years (?) ago because he was a huge tennis fan. If I'm not mistaken, IMG owned/ran the tourney back in 2001. What's the last name of the Larry you are referring to?special700 said:kskate2 said:Yes. That's Larry and his mate.
Is that the same Larry who ran the tournament back in 2001...he has some nerve to show his face there.

Petkovic should not be losing to a qualifer at this level of a tournament at IW.

Wow, I'm really surprised at this outcome! Petkovic seemed like she had regained her "mojo" to be a serious contender for some of the bigger titles.

I'm curious to see Maria's form after getting sick in Mexico. She started off the year well. I'm hoping Vika has the drive to mop the floor with her.
I'm interested to see Keys return. Does anyone know why she hasn't played since Melbourne?
There's definitely some players that need to take the opportunity to right their ship here in Indian Wells. Aga and Ana come to mind.
Genie I'll be watching for until summer. I want to see if Sam is really going to make a difference.

I am hoping Vika will beat Pova as well. I am going to make sure to catch the match.
