Yes. That's Larry and his mate.

Is that the same Larry who ran the tournament back in 2001...he has some nerve to show his face there.

Ugly stats. Negative differentials for both players. SW has -6 and MN has -21.

Did you really expect her to play a perfect match or close to a perfect match under these conditions.

Don't think so. Larry Ellison is a billionaire who helped start Oracle. He bought the tournament about 4 years (?) ago because he was a huge tennis fan. If I'm not mistaken, IMG owned/ran the tourney back in 2001. What's the last name of the Larry you are referring to?

Tsurenko (Q) d Petkovic (9) 63 46 64

Petkovic should not be losing to a qualifer at this level of a tournament at IW.

First - I agree with you Fashionista and say she's a real exiting player to follow. I am not so sure that Caroline was lucky - I never felt that she would lose this match. It's the best match so far in Indian Wells and I really hope someone will post a link to the full match as this match is worth watching again. Well done ladies.:clap

Wow, I'm really surprised at this outcome! Petkovic seemed like she had regained her "mojo" to be a serious contender for some of the bigger titles.

Last report I heard her father was coaching her, though she did say she was looking for a suitable full time coach in the future.I dont know what the trouble was in this match...still a very disappointing loss.

Vika comes through in straights and books her place in the 3R. Wicky has turned this into a match and so Maria has yet to solidify her spot.

EDIT: Wicky finally succumbs after saving 5 MP's. Maria sets up the 3R clash w/ Vika 6-1 7-5

Poor Vika she keeps getting these early tests. I'm curious to see Maria's form after getting sick in Mexico. She started off the year well. I'm hoping Vika has the drive to mop the floor with her.

I'm interested to see Keys return. Does anyone know why she hasn't played since Melbourne?

There's definitely some players that need to take the opportunity to right their ship here in Indian Wells. Aga and Ana come to mind.

Genie I'll be watching for until summer. I want to see if Sam is really going to make a difference.
Keys was busy signing on the dotted line like what Sloane did after beating Serena :popcorn

I am hoping Vika will beat Pova as well. I am going to make sure to catch the match.

^^ Will be a tough match either way. I don't know if Vika is at a place in her comeback to defeat Maria right now.
