Who was that guy and gal, right next to Johnny Mac (who was standing right next to Bill Gats)?
Is that Larry Ellison?

Ugly stats. Negative differentials for both players. SW has -6 and MN has -21.

Yes. That's Larry and his mate.
Wait what?
I've been thinking all these years that she was his daughter. ..I really shouldn't be surprised

His daughter? Hmm, not sure about that. I'm pretty sure that's his squeeze, but I've been wrong before.

According to Wikipedia, Ellison has been married and divorced just four times, the latest
divorce happening in 2010. So, he is officially single now with a networth of $50 billion.
So, it would not be surprising if someone about his daughter's age is his current squeeze.

He has a daughter who is about late 20's, but she is not the one standing next to him.

Just want to congratulate Serena, under the circumstances,it was such a emotional win
Onwards Serena!............great to see the crowd soo appreciative of her first round win,in 14 years at Indian Wells.

Agreed. On her own terms. She's a strong woman and an icon of the sport.

Finally saw Serena's highlights. Niculescu has the strangest forehand I've ever seen. I may have seen players hit it out of desperation or to change the pace but not quite like that. And not for every forehand. That has got to be frustrating to play. Kudos for Serena to battle through that and all the emotions to get to the next round. Now that is all out of way and maybe things will settle down and the tournament will become more "normal."

I think right now Serena seems a bit unsure/tentative on her ground game. I am not sure if this is just nerves, playing someone she never played before or working with a new hitting partner has left her in a weird place at the moment. In watching the highlights, she was using a lot of margin, but when she tried to go for lines or extreme angles she was missing her shots.

Has Serena chosen a new hitting partner yet?

Nah.. that's Larry's squeeze. Yep she is young and he is probably old enough to be her grandpappy:laydownlaughing

Dunno if he's permanent or not, but it's someone called Robbye Poole I believe. Got to 414 on ATP tour. May have been the guy sitting next to Patrick in the box

Correct on the hitting partner, from what I understood per the tweet I posted here it was just for Indian Wells? maybe it could be permanent we will have to wait and see.

Yes, it was the first time they played each other. I am sure Serena will get sharper. She was off for a month and given the circumstances I can understand why her game might be a touch off. I am curious as to what her clay season is going to look like probably the same Madrid and Rome trek.
