45 aces is a ton of freight, though...

Granted Ivo laid down the hammer, but Berd didn't take care of his serve as well. Ivo's return game isn't that good so you have to either make errors or serve poorly to give him a look.

Mayer denies the break. It is 5-4 on serve for Mayer. If Fed had converted the break pt he would be serving for the match. But, he did not.

Amzing, from a bagel first set, Florian has progressed to guarantee a TB.

It is 6-5 on serve

Fed got 5 match points, but needed only one. Good job Fed, just over an hr.

Next up Dr. Evil. I am not afraid despite his Ace fest as Fed is good at playing big servers.

Can they just play the tiebreakers tomorrow? It's tough to envision any breaks of serve vs. Dr. Ivo on the very fast grass.

Yes, they can play three tie breakers first so that busy people can watch them and go home. After that they can play the regular part of the three sets.:laydownlaughing

Jokes aside Dr. Ivo won the two sets by actually breaking Bird. It was Bird who won the set by a TB.
So, Fed has to be really careful about protecting his serve. One bad game, the set will be history.

Yeah that was a very surprising scoreline today in the Berd-Ivo match. Dumping serve twice to Ivo on a slow court is pretty bad let alone lightning fast grass. Hopefully Roger doesn't have any loose games on serve.

This is going to be the toughest test for Roger to win this tourney again; really tough semi and final potential! Not sure he can overcome Ivo and maybe Kei Sunday! Seppi's just moved up 10 positions in the ranking and can jump another 10 to around #25 in the world if he wins the tourney! They are very bunched together down there and can be very volatile for those lower seedings in Wimbledon and the USO! :popcorn
