Or maybe he's getting better acclimated with the turf.
It's never a good sign when Roger celebrates a 500 QF victory as if it's a slam SF.mrzz said:Federer looks much better today than against Jaziri. Still far from his (current) best form, but good enough to have a real shot at this tournament.
A bit of luck in the tie breaker, though.
Forehand looked considerably better. If he keeps improving at this pace he is not completely off the cards as most thought he already were.

I don't want to see Dominic injured because od stupid scheduling.
Up until this year he wasn't regularly making it to the semis and finals. I am sure they will make adjustments for the rest of the year.

It was simply a case of shot making that won this one for him today, especially the beatdown first set but he's not gliding around the court anywhere like the Roger Federer before the knee surgery and dodgy back :nono Hopefully it's a work in progress but thing is, when he's playing a lot now for the rest of the season, it's hard to heal.
I say this with respect..maybe that's not a bad thing at this point. Any delusions that he may be holding on to that he can hang on with these kids and win with movement will hit the harsh wall of reality. At least, let's face it, his swan song at SW19, will befit Roger Federer, the player who was often referred to as an all time tennis great in spite of 5 years on the tour without a slam.Front242 said:Watching the highlights of Federer's match makes me sad. I see what your saying, but have you seen the previous ones? It was so bad that sometimes he looked casual... I mean, like he did not even care to run after the ball. Against Goffin it was definitely an improvement. Let´s hope that by Wimbledon R4 is close to normal...

Yes, Roger's game is definitely improving as he plays more. In the last match, Malek actually had more winner than Roger. That alone should tell you how often he was not really not moving well (sometimes not even trying). I remember one lob of Malek which Fed attempted to get by running back and before he could get there ball bounced twice. This is the kind of situation that he would easily have handled even last year.
