Surgery done (yesterday) and I’m in pain. This makes me think what Murray was going through because the hip is even more delicate, mine is ok but the top of the femur was broken and it’s the part what goes with hip together,
When I see him playing then I will believe he is ok but I’m afraid i’m not going to see that (hope to be wrong)
And I also hope that Rafa skips Queens, training at home and then ready for Wimbledon

No, the only reason he played in the inagural edition of Istanbul was to milk multi-million dollars in appearance free from Turks. They don't have that kind of money to offer him again.
Dude, the sponsor of that tournament is one of the largest banks in Turkey. They can afford Jesus if they chose to do so. :) . They don't offer huge money any more to entice players because it does not look good to the other players.

Hope you recover well. Remember, your guy says "suffering" is must.

Not a chance in Hades..Roger will be the number seed at Wimbledon this year and next regardless if Rafa is number one ranked.
I think you misunderstood the question, AP. I'm fairly certain that Roger will be seeded #1. I'm asking if Rafa will be the #2 seed. Or, is there a calculation whereby, say, Cilic is seeded 2nd? I think grass results over the past 2 years are factored in, along with actual ranking. Just curious if anyone has any idea.

I have not done the actual calculations. But, it is safe to say that Rafa will be seeded #2. This is because the ranking point difference between Rafa and the ones below him are so high that the grass formula will not be able to make up for it.

Thanks for that.

OK. Here are the initial odds (after RG is over and before any grass warm-up tourneys) for winning Wimbledon outright.
Everybody with 1% or better chances are listed. There are 19 of them.

Noteworthy observations:

  1. The field has better chances of winning Wimbledon than Roger, at least at the moment.
  2. Despite recent history of Rafa at Wimbledon, he is second in line to win it.
  3. Only the big three have 10% or better chances.
  4. After the Big three, Sasha leads the rest of the pretenders.
  5. Andy is rated higher than Milos, even though nobody knows in what shape he is in.
  6. Shapo keeps on getting listed ahead of various others in these odds in all slams since he burst into scene by defeating Rafa.

1. Federer 13/8 (38%)
2. Rafa 6 (14%)
3. Novak 9 (10%)
4. Sasha 11 (8%)
5. Cilic 14 (7%)
6. JMDP 18 (5%)
7. Andy 20 (5%)
8. Raonic 25 (4%)
9. Nick 28 (3%)
10. Thiem 30 (3%)
11. Grigor 33 (3%)
12. Shapo 50 (2%)
13. Anderson 55 (2%)
14. Isner / Nishikori / Berdych / Edmund / Wawrinka / Goffin 100 (1%)

Next up date will be after Stuttgart/Netherlands tourney is over. Then, the next update will be after Queens/Halle is over.
Then another update after seeds are determined using grass formula, Then another update after draw comes out.
Final pre-tourney update the sunday before the tourney starts.

This is why I give the side-eye to the bookies. Wouldn't you give Cilic better odds than that?

That's smart. In related news, I just read that Djokovic has gotten over his pet, and has accepted a WC to play at Queens.

And who would that be? OK, Nadal. I am so done with you Feddies making Nadal out to be a peasant, blue-collar, whatever lesser. He is fully tennis royalty. I don't know why it takes 11 wins at RG and we still have to remind you. I'll also remind you that he has a much classier pedigree than Roger in life. Complain about his tennis if you like, but his family goes back to the 14th C. in Mallorca. His grandfather was a composer and symphony conductor. His uncle was a great player for Barça and FC Mallorca. He was raised upper-middle class to Roger's very solidly middle-class, with no other interesting pedigree to speak of. Please stop calling Rafa a peasant.

His pedigree, however, my friend, teaches him well enough not to pick his butt in front of thousands of admirers.

I get that you're a fan of Rafa's tennis. But I couldn't help laughing out loud about the sterling defence of your boys familial pedigree. Jeepers fans are funny!

He doesn’t pick his butt, only his pants and if you don’t like it then don’t look

I hope du11 skips Wimbledon too. 2 months of du11-free tennis will be amazing.

I don’t see Nadal skipping Wimby. He’ll try for as many points as he can to get the year end top ranking. Incidentally, if he did skip Wimby, that would be only one month without him. Right?

50 years of it would be better. I await the day that Rafa retires and makes tennis great again :D
I already pointed to you on other thread, how strange, even absurd is your opinion (or rather subjective esthetic sentiment about tennis being "great") that is shared by virtually no one on this forum (with a notable exception of monfed whom I read only for a laugh), at least not seriously.

I am Fed fan, just like you. Moreover, identical to you, I also wish that Fed's tally of GS titles stands on top forever because he deserves it, also that Fed surpasses JC in overall title tally (it's likely to happen if Fed keeps playing for as long as JC did), but that wish does not denigrate other players who compete against Fed. In the end, Fed is who he is, only thanks to these players, including Rafa, his biggest competitor across the overall career. If there were no competitors, there would be no winner, or if competitors were poor, the winner would not be too happy about his achievements. That's why it's important to appreciate the qualities of competitors and hope they keep motivating your man, rather than despairing how close they are to your man's records.
