La Monf is down and slow to get up.

It looks like he's ok, but he's in a hole. Down 5-2 in the final set

Tommy played brilliantly in the final set. La Monf mounts a spirited comeback, but comes up short. I can't believe this guy is sliding around like this is a clay court.

Tommy serves out the match 6-7 6-3 6-3. Fantastic job for the old guy. :p

Turned over to watch Hewitt and Del Potro and quickly got bored and stopped watching. Good win for Haas to setup a rematch of last year's final against Haas. Monfils trick shot in the 2nd set was very entertaining but you've gotta wonder what he's thinking. Does he just want to be remembered as a crazy performer with countless crazy youtube clips or does he want to actually win matches?

Front, I never knew there are two Tommy Haas in the tour. Unless, Roger changed his last name to Haas:p

Also, wow Federer just double bageled a player!

Big match for Federer tomorrow. Haas is playing great at home as always. If he loses tomorrow and enters Wimbledon with no confidence at all then his chances are minimal.

You know I was thinking about this earlier and in reality it makes sense 'cos Roger hasn't won a title for months. But then I thought, hmm, he lost to Tommy here last year and people must've said the same thing and what happened? He won Wimbledon. By the same token people wrote Murray off early for losing to Mahut in the 2nd round of Queens last year and he ended up making the final of Wimbledon for the first time, and was ahead for the first 2.9 sets till Fed turned it on at the tail end of set 2. So while it's good to go in with a win here, it didn't make much difference to either of them last year. Big fan of Haas and I still think he has a good shot to defend his title here and I wouldn't mind at all really if he does even at Fed's expense, if only to see Tommy's ranking stay where it is.

Being that I can't stand Nadal and that he won the F.O. for the nth time, I've been a bit depressed and haven't been following tennis until I got the urge to check today's results. I'm liking what I'm seeing at Halle...Federer vs. Haas and The Good Doctor vs. Gasquet. All guys with single-handed forehands (and backhands :)). GO YOUZHNY!!!

I hear you but it's different this year. Last year he didn't look good at the French but was very good until then. This year he pretty much hasn't done well anywhere except for Rome (and even that wasn't a great tournament given the final and his competition leading up to it). I am a fan of Haas too and didn't mind all that much last year when he beat Roger in the final, but tomorrow I will be rooting hard for Roger. I think he needs a positive result badly. A win over Haas would actually be his "most quality" win of the year believe it or not except for maybe Tsonga at AO.

Shouldn't it be "Le Monf" instead of "La Monf? "Le" being masculine and "La" being feminine?

I'm looking forward to Federer-Haas tomorrow. It's really remarkable how both these guys are still playing, not just given their ages, but how their levels are still very high. I was looking back at some past results and didn't realize it but Haas was in contention (playing QFs, SFs) for several GSs back when Federer was cleaning house, so for them both to still be here in the semis is nice to see.

Yeah you're dead right about a potential win over Haas being his most quality win this year so in that respect it'd certainly be a big confidence boost. Haas has already taken some big scalps this year.

Tommy takes first set 6-3. Fed retaliates 6-3. We are heading to the decider. Tommy to serve first.

Tommy falls off cliff w/ some DF's and hands the break to Fed at 2-1

Figured this one would be the 2nd match and only woke up to see the last few games. Roger had 14 aces so he must have served well and good that he was able to rally for the win. Hopefully he gets Gasquet in the final as that would be a tougher test.
