Yeah, AP is right. Nadal fans don't generally hate Roger. I don't. We never had to, because our guy has basically owned him. We've mostly reserved our animus for Novak, as he's been more of a threat. An Interesting partner of Nishi in doubles: his compatriot Ben McLachlan. How come Ben, with such obviously Anglo-saxon name, born & living in Queenstown NZ, is Japanese? Turns out, after his mother. Then in his bio, I read:
"Began representing Japan in June 2017 after previously playing for New Zealand."
I wonder how Ben can explain his sudden national loyalty switch and a decision to show his JPN passport on tour from the middle of career onwards. It doesn't sound fair to NZ tennis, where he was up-brought and they no doubt invested a lot into him. He must be feeling like a traitor in his small city of Queenstown where no doubt lots of people know and recognize him on the streets. I don't hate Fed and I don't really dislike him, though I was never a fan, pre-Rafa. Now his fans on occasion....and that's why we fight. But seriously...I don't root for him now mostly because of the records in terms of Rafa, but I have no reason to hate the guy. And he's a great tennis player.

It's a general observation, I'm not presenting it as fact. But to put the shoe on the other foot, you are quite fond of saying the only reason some of us Fed fans hate Rafa is due to the fact he has lost so often to him and is a threat to the slam record. And that is false. We aren't fond of his boring style, all the delay tactics and the possibility that he is...cough cough...somewhat manufactured.
