^ Doesn't take too much to knock him off the first week, 2 have succeeded and 5 other bozos pushed him to 5 sets the times he made the finals.

Yep, there was the five-setter against Benneteau, four-setter against Youzhny, five-setter against Falla, four-setter against Bozoljac ... oh, wait, you mean Rafa.

4 sets ain't 5 is it? And there never was a four setter vs. Youzhny that I can recall.

You're being way too literal. It was only a joke about early round difficulties at Wimbledon.

And yes, there was a four-setter against Youzhny in 2011:

It's great the way every thread now is turning into a mini-Fedal feast... :snigger

I think the Federer fans are nervous and cautious about Wimbledon after last year. Same goes for the Nadal fans. First and second round exits tend to linger in the mind.

I'm more excited about Wimbledon than anything, given that it can only add to Rafa. He goes in as an almost unknown quantity, little expectation that he'll survive the first week. I'm hoping he does, but at the moment, I'm not overly concerned about it.

I think Rafa winning in Paris again has fuelled the recent spate of spats...

He won RG last 2 years also so wouldn't put too much stock in that.

??

People aren't annoyed that he won RG. I expected him to despite the poor clay season prior to it and mostly because Djokovic is flat out poor in slam finals these days. It's just a case of Nadal not being good on grass anymore. Aside from the 2012 anomaly neither is Federer either.

I'm not nervous, there is no reason to think Roger will do well there or anywhere these days.

Sadly that's the truth. Anything he wins now is just gravy. He set himself a goal of 5 titles this year and I'm pretty sure he wasn't banking on 4 slams and the WTF

Nadal survives the first week, Nadal becomes the favourite to win it.

I actually agree with this. If he gets to the round of 16, the odds of winning the tournament increase significantly.

It's a whole different surface after the first week.

Absolutely. The first week might actually be harder than the second. But then again, it might not be. I'm very curious to see Rafa at Wimbo this year. I hope he's ready, that's all...

That's why he has 2 of them, that and Roger's mental issues.

Roger's mental issues are one of the two key ingredients to Rafa winning Wimbledon twice? If that were true, Rafa would have won it more than that.

^ Well was referencing 2008 specifically. Roger did not belong anywhere near the final in 2010.
