This is not a big deal really for Rafa, (Although a huge one for Brown so congrats to him) but what is a big deal is the fresh grass he will step on 2 weeks from now for his first round match. That grass is the fastest and the most slippery one Wimby is going to have and he has to find a way to figure it out.

I would not go back home. I would go straight to London, find some grass courts and find my grass legs. Home is not going anywhere.

^ Let's hope he gets an easy draw this time, someone like Steve Darcis :)

Yet he made it to the Wimbledon final in 2006, 2007, 2008, 2010, and 2011.

Agreed.

:clap You got it! All I heard was whining from the top players last year; esp. Maria Sharapova! They were floundering out there and it showed they weren't ready! :nono

I think he needs to go home and rest, if even for a couple of days. He landed in halle on Monday and straight away was on the courts, which is commendable. But it was a hard clay court season.

I totally agree, however, about hitting the practice courts - and finding one as fast and slippy as possible to acclimatise. His practice must be of quality next week, and I think Toni needs to be there too.

I'm surprised he didn't enter the doubles in Halle. Federer wisely did...

^ Doesn't take too much to knock him off the first week, 2 have succeeded and 5 other bozos pushed him to 5 sets the times he made the finals.

Darcis only resumed playing last week so I wouldn't be too confident on how fit/match tough he is.

Speaking of him, what actually happened to him? he hasn't been seen since. Did he pick up the shoulder injury in the match against Rafa?

Thanks, Front, I thought you'd be off counting your money. You got great odds for a two-horse race.

Is that your biggest win?

Front, you should also place a bet that Brown will lose to Kohlschreiber.

No need for any more bets for a while, tented. I just made 27k! Thank you Brown and Nadal!

For the stake I put down it is. I had €500 on Brown to win in straight sets at 54/1. Thank you naive bookies. I've made a good amount on others in the past too but that's definitely the best so far alright!

Roasting in the kitchen here and feeling dizzy as is clear by me first typing deadly instead of definitely there! Wtf? LOL!

Yep, there was the five-setter against Benneteau, four-setter against Youzhny, five-setter against Falla, four-setter against Bozoljac ... oh, wait, you mean Rafa.

Didn't surprise me in the slightest. Have €500 on Brown in 2 :D Makes up for not betting on the French Open. Sweet!

I double down on that bet.. Nice:clap.. BTW. Rafa got a nice appearance fee :snigger. Sure Rafa needs more work but I would rather for him to go back to his routine practine schedule and enjoy his 2014 RG championship

^ Don't forget the 5 year age gap and way more matches played on tour.

4 sets ain't 5 is it? And there never was a four setter vs. Youzhny that I can recall.

It's great the way every thread now is turning into a mini-Fedal feast... :snigger
