I thought I'd post a photo of the gift I got from adidas tennis during Wimbledon. The message reads:

Here's something nice for you to put on during Andy's next match!
Take care, your friends at adidas tennis.
p.s. This is Andy's size ;)

pictures

Here is some of my other Andy memorabilia. They are all authentic shirts. They have Andy's sponsors on the sleeves and they're signed by Andy. What can I say? I love my boy.

Congratulations to Nole and Jelena, they are officially Mr and Mrs Djokovic. I have some paparazzi photos but the official ones will be published on July 14, those will be much better to post.

All the best to them!:clap:heart:

Do post them when they come out. Meantime, I did check out the place where they got married, check the link and photos HERE. For those who enjoy a bit of "travel porn," it looks absolutely gorgeous, and so romantic. Perfect place for a wedding.

Congratulations to the happy couple. :celeb:

That is a lot of swag! How did you get so many autographed shirts? Very nice of Adidas to send you another one.

I received the Fred Perry and the Team Murray clothes via the lovely Judy Murray. The adidas signed shirts are all from adidas tennis (via twitter). They're really good when it comes to interacting with fans of Andy. The adidas hooded top was sent out of the blue. A lovely surprise but very much appreciated.

If my house were on fire I'd save my family but I'd make sure they each carried one of Andy's shirts to safety. ;)

I'm trying to ask this without it sounding like I'm having a go at Novak but I was sure I read that there would be no photos as he wanted to keep his wedding private. Will they feature in a celebrity magazine?

The beach wedding was private; the church ceremony tomorrow will feature only about 15 of the closest ones. There will be some official photos from yesterday's beach wedding, they will feature in Hello magazine, Serbian version of Hello Magazine claims that they will have exclusive photos from his wedding on July 14 and all money from the photos will go to Novak Djokovic foundation. Nole promised his fans that they will get a glimpse of this ceremony but under his control. So far it has been very private as I've seen only a half a dozen photos from quite a distance, apparently the security was on a high level. They did manage to take photos of some of the guests arriving to Sveti Stefan but that is all and I think that they have this planned and executed the way they wanted it.

They also specified that they didn't need any gifts and instead of gifts, they would prefer a donation to the Foundation. Nole's best man is his childhood friend Neven Markovic (he plays football in Switzerland) but we still don't know who Jelena's Maid of Honor is as she is not a public figure and is not comfortable with all the publicity. I am sure we'll find out eventually.:)

It is funny that I'd visited this area before Nole was even born. Now my favourite sports person got married there.

Personally, I am in favor of celebs keeping things private, selling photos to one source, and then donating it to charity. I think that's a decent trade-off.

Actually, I think I just gave him a few of them. Well, the man DID just get married. And it's sort of the off-season, so why not be generous?

I am thrilled about this news, as ATP is finally coming to my home town. I am not particularly thrilled it is on clay, but I have been to this sports complex and it is just amazing.

It is interesting to note that WTA is restarting an old event in Istanbul. But, it is on clay.
Normally, you would expect that the ATP and WTA tournaments in a country like Turkey
would be played on the same surface and on the same venue. Apparently, not in this
case despite both being in the same city of Istanbul.

I think sometimes we see bits and pieces on the internet that we might want to let people know about but they don't always warrant a thread of their own. Moxie kindly said I could start a general news thread on the ATP tour thread. The following could do with a thread of its own but I wanted to make a start on the general one.

Please feel free to add any tennis news you hear about that might be of interest. Enjoy!

Roger Federer's hilarious twitter Q&A

After practicing at the Shanghai Masters on Tuesday, Roger Federer conducted an impromptu #askRF Twitter session. He fielded a host of questions ranging from his favorite movies to his thoughts on recent developments in aeronautical engineering (really!). And he (let’s hope it was him) was really funny about it.

Here are some of Federer’s funniest answers from his session, which went a second round because he said he couldn’t get enough. This was, hands down, the most entertaining Twitter Q&A involving a player I’ve read. He’s mastered the art of the punchline hashtag.

good to see the Fed man relax and enjoying sometime away from the court.

Bernard Tomic dumped by management company IMG:

http://tinyurl.com/kvmuvw4

LOL, this was inevitable. Tomic has been with IMG since he was 12 years old. IMG have links with a lot of global brands like Nike and Yonex which give sponsorship deals to players. You know what? I'm happy about this. In fact, I smiled when I first read the article. :p This is what you get when you constantly put in mediocre efforts and your rankings drastically flaw. I know he is still young and I know he had that hip injury after the AO this year, but sometimes it takes something like this to give you that extra drive. A lot of this also has to do with Kyrgios' epically epic run at Wimbledon, too. His off-court attitude was one of the reasons, as well, and I can certainly see why. Tomic is quite unlikable. Not to say he's a bad person (became he's not), but as a marketable player, there isn't much that catches the eye. Someone like Kyrgios is more exuberant, optimistic, and vigorous, and that's precisely what the management companies like IMG seek, I imagine. I know I would. Most people here in Australia merely supporting Tomic because he's Australian. Players like Kyrgios and Hewitt are just much more well-liked. They embody the Aussie spirit mate!

But yeah, the Nard Dog is still young. And I will continue to support him (often with cynicism), but maybe this is a sign of him really needing to step it up. I mean, I can't believe he's no longer in the top 100. You experience these time of significant ranking downfalls in the twilight years of your career - not when you're an up-and-comer.

Oh well, only time will tell now. Historically, Tomic is pretty bad after the grass court season. I wonder if this will change?

Wonder how long it'll take Viktor Troicki to get back to a decent level? His ban ended today.

He's now 842 in the world. Maybe his buddy will get him some WCs, but…really? He's 28, and wasn't ever really that interesting. Would you hazard a guess?
