Winter is nearly here...

Who's the first death then?

Lame trailer but GOT has been like that for awhile. I have a feeling some fairly big or at least medium characters drop quick. I also predict the dragons all end up getting wiped out in the battle with the White Walkers. The war in Kings Landing will be a more traditional one instead of the dragons just destroying everyone in sight.

In my off-time from the boards, I've been trying to catch up with GoT. I'm way behind, but I think I can catch up by the end of season. It's good fun. I look forward to discussing when I can avoid spoilers. :popcorn

Where are you upto?

I believe there are only 6 episodes in this final season... and a lot of things to settle. Should be epic.

About halfway through the 3rd season, but I only started 2 weeks ago...and the weekend is coming.

I'm guessing you know a lot of spoilers given all the articles on the show throughout the years!

Not really. I do know that any character could get killed at any minute, from the jokes. And I'm dying to see the Red Wedding episode, though I have no idea why. I've done a very good job of staying away from the spoilers, though this week has taken a lot of work, since everyone wants to do a recap leading up to the last season.

So you don't necessarily know what happens during the red wedding episode? It is an outstanding one for sure

All I know is the joke that Obama made about it during his last correspondents' dinner. ("Security, bar the doors. It's like the Red Wedding.") No idea what that means. I think it's in the next season from where I am.

The Red Wedding is an epic episode. Maybe the best, although there are a few to give it a run for its money.

I won't throw any spoilers right now (for a day or so) but I thought the first Episode was pretty good. Sets things up nicely for a big second edition.

Not to be mean @Moxie, but I do recommend you keep away from this thread from here on out as there are spoilers as we discuss the episodes.

I thought it was good too. So much of this last season is set up to be intense battle scenes and this episode took care of a lot of the big conversations/revelations that had to happen beforehand. I'm guessing next week will be similar. It sure ended on a good note too!

Bronn's scene was uhhh entertaining for multiple reasons.

Now as much as I love the character I kind of feel like he should've been written off the show after last season. It makes sense he isn't traveling North with Jaime, and following the battle with the dothraki and dragons it makes sense he isn't sticking around for a war in King's Landing. Bronn loves money but he also is no fool when it comes to self preservation.

So it made sense to just not really have him in the last season. But as we saw he is probably going to feature big at some point. As much as he loves coin and as much as he jokes around it is clear he likes the Lannister brothers and I am pretty sure he isn't going to even try to take them out. My guess is if anything he may use that bow to save one of them.

I didn't watch the Graham Norton or read Darth's above post, for fear of spoilers. Just to say that I finally got to see the "Red Wedding" episode. I'm devastated. So many of my favorite characters gone in a flash. I knew this was a cruel series for that, but...wow.

@DarthFed: I know you said I should avoid this thread due to spoilers. Feel free to discuss recent episodes. If I didn't have a talent for avoiding spoilers, I'd never have gotten this far completely in the dark. LOL.

When I saw your post saying you were midway through season 3 and thought Red Wedding was next season I had to hold my tongue lol. I knew you were in for an incredible shock. We all were devastated, I think everyone loved Robb and Catelyn Stark.

Part of what is awesome about the show is it is easy to like a lot of the characters even if they are on opposite sides. I like all the Lannisters and most of the Starks too. Anyways you're just getting into season 4 which is the best season IMO.

The Red Wedding was actually when I started watching GoT. I couldn't avoid it on social media and then watched the massacre on Youtube. Within a fortnight, I'd binged on everything to get up to date. After that, I followed it religiously.

I remember watching that episode and literally being speechless for half an hour after it. And for about a week any website I visited was talking about it.

Have you ever watched it again? I rewatched every season a few months ago, and found the Red Wedding was still impactful.
