Can't wait. Time does fly by fast and the bright side of that is the wait doesn't feel long in between seasons. I'm currently reading the books to get my GOT fix until season 6 kicks in. I couldn't believe Ned Stark didn't learn from his mistakes in the book and repeated them on the show. He had it coming if you ask me...

From what I've read it sounds like 3 more seasons and at least one movie which will serve as a prequel to the show.  I guess one thing that could tip it either way is whether the old bag actually releases anymore books.  Is it April yet?

I miss the fix too.  Big rumours are Jon Snow is back.  I can only assume Melisandre works a bit of devilish magic and brings him back to life a bit like that other fella following the same god in the Band of Brothers tribe.

Its not looking good for Jon Snow:nono .. His faith seems to left in the hands of the Red witch( I still can't understand why he turn her turn away from her seducing advances, It may have improved his chances).

I wasn't kidding when I said time flies by.

Can't wait. I was honestly slightly disappointed by season 5, which I thought was the weakest so far (but still better than about 95% of any show in history) so I'm hoping for a strong rebound.

It feels like forever to me in between seasons. I agree that season 5 was either worst or 2nd worst (season 2) but that it was still excellent, just not compared to the other seasons. They left with a lot of good cliffhangers though.

Agreed, Season 5 was still good... but you were waiting for a huge event ( a big change in the dynamics... like the Red Wedding ) that never really happened. The Wall episode was OK, but not a game changer. I'm hoping for some big events in the next season. There was too much focus in Season 5 on Daenarys without much really developing, other than re-hashes of her earlier scripts... take a city, free the slaves etc...

I expect a few characters to get killed off in Season 6!

is that in the bookÉ i haven`t read it - just the first chapters really from a book a friend lent me -- to ``catch up`` as i didnt even know of the tv series ..
and now am also hooked.

but it makes sense how melisandre would ``want`` jon snow since she - purely on a `sexual`note seemed to have the real hots for him...remember those few shots n the Keep...haha. and he rejected her advances so she`ll want him both as slave and as boy toy...

I think the series has caught upto the books pretty much, although I have only read part of the first book (have the whole lot to wade through when I get time) , but my understanding is that the books have only been "loosely" followed anyway and there has been a lot of leeway whrn evolving the shows.

Melisandre looked pretty downbeat after what happened with Stannis in the closing part of season 5.

melisande - never quite saw that coming. very sudden defeat of her ''chariot" to her own designs to power..and now must look for a new one...although i was thinking she was ALREADY eyeing a younger one -- JON snow - and yet has to find out he's dead, lol.

definitely a very engrossing, compelling series...but, but, but why so full of gore?

-- heck -- THAT'S WHY IT'S COMPELLING, HEHE!!

It's very compelling and I like the way no character is really safe... Game of Thrones don't really do Happy Endings.

I'd say the books were followed pretty closely the first 4 seasons. I read up to where the show left off at the end of season 3 and from what I read the changes in season 4 were not material. From what I've heard from people who've read all the books is that season 5 was a huge departure in many ways..
