Pearce had to retire her injury was so bad so not sure that's much of a recommendation for them. Haas has had tons of time off tour and has never been the same player after all the surgeries, except for the occasional match here and there.

Fed will be at IW. I assume it is to do promo work?

He is exempt from all mandatory events. So, he does not have to be there to promote. If he is there it will be to play.

I am scheduled to attend a dinner party with Fed next week. If anyone has a question I should ask, please post it here.

Ask him how can he look at himself in the mirror, knowing how much he disappointed me.
Tell him that every time he loses a match to the disgusting current wolrd #1, all his true fans die a little inside.
(If you actually show him this or ask him this, I would be very thankful to you)

Nobody is more gutted than I when Fed loses. I spent an afternoon with him at USO last year and was amazed, not only by what he can do with a tennis ball but by seeing what a great guy he is. We fans should just enjoy whatever he can give us, without the expectation of winning. I am actually shocked he is already back on court, and hope he can stay healthy.

Yeah, but don't forget to ask him how he can manage to look at himself in the mirror. Prod his shoulder with your finger and abuse him a little, eh? Puppet Master is making a reasonable request! :lolz: :laydownlaughing

And enjoy yourself, sounds like you'll have a great time anyway... :)

Good news:

http://www.tennis.com/pro-game/2016/02/federer-recovering-surgery-jumps-back-trainingliterally/57713/#.Vs3WpmuNOI4

I get the sense that this guy wants to play as long as he possibly can.

I thought you are staying away of this forum, which was not a bad idea considering how obnoxious statements you are coming up with;)

The photos of him jumping in training are class. Looks like a Japanese Manga/anime with the Fedster flying through the air like the bionic man. Looking forward to seeing him back in action.

To an extent, I kept my promise, didn't watch a tennis match since.... Well, I don't want to relieve those memories.
I see all is well here.

Dude is practicing.

I saw this earlier today. He's jumping pretty high for someone who had meniscus surgery barely 3 weeks ago. :eyepop Hope he's not overdoing it because it looks like he worked out and practiced on the same day. His posts were within 2 hours of each other.

Thanks for the "invitation".

If you have a chance, please ask him

1. If he is going to try to play doubles at Indian Wells to ease back into playing.

2. Where he thinks the best pizza place is in or around Basel. I'll be in that neck of the woods soon, and I'm something of a pizza connoisseur.

Also, please pass on a humble tennis fan's thanks for all his effort and superb play through the years to provide us such wonderful entertainment. As I see it, it's not only about winning, it's enjoying the sport, and challenges each match can bring, and tinkering with the game, trying something new, playing the young guys coming up, many other things, and some people don't get that.

Thanks and best regards to you and him,
masterclass

It was very minor surgery and the Swiss have world class doctors. Imagine he wouldn't practice hard unless he was able to and ok to do so. He's been very wise with his scheduling all his career and coming back from surgery will be the same. He's not gonna do anything stupid so nothing to fear and hopefully he'll be back playing in no time. By the look of things he will be.

By the look of things he's bouncing around like a Duracell bunny. It's a remarkable recovery, by any standards... :popcorn

I was half way through typing this earlier and deleted and didn't bother posting it but it was very minor surgery and if he goes on to win the next 3 slams I'll be willing to concede he had a quiet word with Nadal's doctor

Well of course, if it was anyone but Federer showing such unprecedented recovery times, and endurance etc, you'd be accusing them of being Serbian or Spanish!

Fast recovery is one thing. Winning 3 slams right after 7+ months off is another.
