Wait, you think Nadal takes 48 seconds in between points? Yeah OK...

That's actually one of his speedier times. Go to YT and check the videos. People love to document how long Nadal - and Djokovic - take between points...

Here's one where Nadal took 55 seconds...

Here's one where Roger's serve game took 45 seconds...and Nadal took 48 seconds between points. This videomaker was nice enough to include a clip of Nole taking 53.06 seconds between points, too -

I can't believe people waste their time making these videos...but you have to admit it's pretty funny.

Each one takes time between points in different ways and when its more convenient for them one way or another because....come on! here there was no reason to complain

Jesus Christ. Federer is one of the fastest in-between-points players on tour. Nadal is one of the slowest. It's OK. Our heroes can't be perfect. I fucking love Nadal and honestly don't give two shits about how much time he takes in between points, and I'd say the same about players I despise (Djokovic) or not too fond of (Del Potro). Am I saying it's enjoyable? No. Would I like to see it reduced? Sure. Is it nearly as big a deal as many make it out to be? Pfffft, please.

That said, Carol trying to defend Nadal on this is hilarious. There's no need to get defensive.

Also, this is why many of us call you out on being a terrible poster (sorry, but let's call things for what they are). Federer had absolutely every right to complain and if you understand tennis, he was spot on here. He's explaining to the umpire why the ball bounced twice (which would have earned him the point) and he did it very politely. What's your problem with this exactly?

Check the vid again big mouth, did you see the ball bounced twice?
Sorry but I don't think that you are a poster better than me. Maybe because you like so much the controversy (your comments don't say anything else) you are a good one for 'someones' who are around here defending their idol (Federer's fans) a lot more than I do but in my point of view you are a big troll
I haven't tried to defend Nadal about the time between points, even I've said many times that if he should do a little bit faster his serve probably would be better but if you watch him well his time you'll see that most of the times doesn't take so long like some people likes to say.
And also I know that Roger is one of the faster serving but he likes to complain a lot and most of the times he is wrong but maybe it helps him to rest a little more between points?
And yes, I understand tennis and I can see a lot more than you for sure

No it is not ok because it's to the detriment of Nadull's opponent, he's doing it purposely to upset the opponent's rhythm. If it was ok then there wouldn't have been a time between points rule at all.

You think it is ok because they're not being properly enforced, Nadal's timewasting has been normalised.

Uh, how slow are you? I meant it's OK for Nadal fans to accept that their guy plays slowly without getting defensive about it.

The second bounce is after racquet contact. The top spin argument from Federer is a pretty smart one, in fact. Thanks, Carol. Another reason to believe the guy is the GOAT.

Well, I haven't see the second bounce... but anyway Roger is complaining more and more, only this year probably he did at least 5 times and he wasn't right same like when he asks the Hawk Eye which he is doing very often he always is wrong. It's another way to take a little more time.......

My goodness your grasping at straws here..not quite sure what your post is trying to confirm for you..If your attempt at normalizing Nadal's remarkable time between points you haven't made it with this.

So he shouldn't use instant replay on close calls? How dare he! Fact of the matter is Roger likes quick play, there are probably some people who use Hawkeye to collect their thoughts or get extra rest but Roger is clearly not one of them. As for complaints to the umpire, they all have days where they do it, some are justified and some aren't. Roger going nuts on the chair ump in the 2009 USO final was definitely justified. In the recent IW match against DP he was being pretty ridiculous at times. Still isn't as bad as a diva having one of the most respected chair umps banned from his matches for enforcing the rules. It doesn't get more petty and arrogant than that.

It’s funny to see the Roger’s fans how mad are getting with any critic about him when they always love to critic Nadal for anything, the time, the draw, the competition, this and that. Come on guys, control yourselves with your comments, you are the worst example to critic others posters!

Videos are funny, but again, I ask you, you think 47 seconds is one of his speedier times? As in, on average, that's how much time he's taking in between points, if not more?

I don't think Fed fans are mad. Just don't agree with your posts. Simple really.

What good reasons? He is someone who uses more energy on the court than his opponents, he needs to in order to play his ugly game. Taking all the time in the world before he serves makes sense.
Its because of all the injuries hes had, Nadal has to take his time so more injuries dont happen, and nadal the most exciting game we have seen on a tennis court.

Dude, come on Nadal fans have a right to defend their hero, no matter what he does, federer fans do the some thing all the time. and it not change the match anyway, so they is no need for you to get mad about a great poster just standing up for they guy. And even try say fedheads dont do that because they do which is you trolling as well.

Let us add another week to Fed's weeks at #1 record. Hope Thiem can save tennis again in Rome and Fed can have 312 weeks (6 years) at #1!
