with big kev out,, del potro is 8th seed ,

after his surprisingly high level in rome, and with a 2hbh back in his toolkit, he could be in for a few wins.
Being seeded 8 is good news for him. Being able to keep his 2nd hand on the BH is even better. Those two things, and his performance against Djokovic in the Rome QF would push him higher in the odds, if you ask me.

I'm starting to think that this guy besides to have a serious problem with his own personality he is also a TROLL
He says "RG is a shit comparing with Wimbledon". Sorry Kyrgios but you are a shit comparing with the others players, try to take your medicine, loser!

He made a monkey out of Federer in Rome 2010 and Nadal at Rome 2013. Ultimately lost both but hammered them in both sets he won and unlucky to lose both matches tbh.
Actually, he beat Roger in Rome, 2010: 2-6, 6-1, 7-5. Maybe you're thinking of their Madrid match that year, which also went 3, but RF prevailed: 3-6, 6-1, 6-4. He has never beaten Nadal in their 7 meetings, though pressed him in '10 and '13 to 3 sets, I'll give you that. H2H v. Roger is 2-3. I'm just kind of surprised that you've dredged up Gulbis as any "beast" on clay. There are other players that have pressed both, and still lost. Gulbis is a head-case, and whatever talents he has, he has tended to squander, and I don't know of anyone who, besides you is interested in hugely championing them, or him. Maybe I'm wrong. Gulbis fans out there?

I am not sure many people, whose dad were that rich, would have scaled to his heights in tennis knowing that he does not have to really work hard to live.

You're defending Gulbis? Are you really saying that overcoming the sad fact of being rich is a virtue? He almost actually had a career, if he could have been arsed. Even his own mother told him to quit if he couldn't be bothered. That seemed to shake him out of his lethargy for about 1 season. Didn't last long, though. Poor little rich boy.

Notable losses in quals at RG.

Novak lost in straight sets.

Remember, Daniel Brands, the guy who gave trouble to Ralph few years ago. He lost 6-3 6-0 in opening round.

Our, American Pride, Donald Young lost 61 60 in opening round of quals.

Some Other names still in draw: GGL, Troicki, Bjorn, Stakhovsky, Darcis, Rosol, Bolleli, Tennis, Brown.

Bolleli Played a decent match against Rafa last year. He was playing really good attacking tennis and almost took that 3rd set in tie break. Actually he troubled Rafa last year more than Thiem.

I didn’t expect Del Potro to play this well after a a lay-off. He could reach the finals of RG.

This year the TV coverage in USA is through Tennis Channel and NBC Sports Channel. Folks like me who don't have Tennis Channel are screwed. Thanks ESPN, the home of the slams. :cry:Also, it seems tough to find quality streams these days compared to the past.

I erroneously thought Leander Paes had retired as I have not seen his name in news of late. He is 45 years young and still going. He will play RG along with Benoit Paire.

The draw ceremony is on Thursday, 7 p.m. local time (1 p.m. edt) It will be broadcast live and so interested folks can watch/follow it live.

p.s. Normally, the draw ceremony is on Friday (for other GSs). As RG starts on sunday, the draw ceremony is also one day earlier.

Here is the ideal draw for Ralph at RG (I have double checked that this is possible as per the seedings).

1R --- Nick Kyrgios
2R --- Christian Garin
3R --- Stan Wawrinka
4R --- Medvedev - Gael Monfils (too bad that Fog is not possible here due to him being seeded high).
QF --- Tsitsipas
SF ---- Thiem
F ---- Novak

Medvedeve got seeded 12th and so cannot face Ralph in R4. So, I replace him Gael Monfils.

Here are the top 12 seeds.

1. Novak
2. Ralph
3. Fed
4. Thiem
5. Sasha
6. Perseus
7. Samurai
8. JMDP
9. Fog
10. Khachanov
11. Cilic
12. Medvedev

Here is the actual tournament schedule. This means at least one semifinal (of both men's and women's SFs) would be over before NBC starts telecasting it.

Why doesn’t ESPN cover RG? I remember they had time slots for some years, with the final going to NBC.
