I never vote from the heart 'cos frankly what's the point of that. My vote of DP to win is from the head. It's meant to be a poll based on the predicted winner not a Facebook game of likes. Going by the comments anyway it seems to be votes based on genuine predictions. The WTA polls I have to say are laughable in people picking people who have no chance but just 'cos they happen to be the person's favourite but show no form to win.

Well said, Front. I agree with all of this, including the WTA part, although I fully admit I'm guilty of voting with my heart too many times over the years.

Wells there's always the aspect of form and media hype coming into the equation, especially when things like that distract your normal betting patterns. Like when Fed won the 2011 WTF there was so much media hype with many even making him the favourite for the AO 2012 and indeed he did play a great tournament till he met Nadal. But you'd still have been nuts to back him to win that match, despite what the media told you.

Well, I'm picking Novak in 2. If he can get out of the gate quickly and finish things off before DP gets any momentum, it's doable. He's the hunter once again and while DP can hit the fuzz off the ball, I think the world #2 will be able to handle it better than Rafa.

I am picking Del Potro in 3 sets
He has been playing great tennis in the last couple of weeks
Also I would love to see him win his first Master Series Title

How many players are out there that have a slam and NOT a Masters 1000 ? Delpo must be in some select company there...

Interesting question. My guess is zero. It's mind-boggling that he hasn't won, say, Canada or Cincinnati, yet has won the USO. Indian Wells and Miami are also well within his capabilities, especially coming that early in the year. And hopefully Shanghai will be, too!

I don't vote from the heart. On a fast surface we know DP when on can blow anyone off the court. It certainly is a tough call tomorrow given form this week but I think DP will find a way

Given their comparative pedigrees (today's word), I'm surprised to see most people fancy Juan for this one. More votes from the heart than the head? Because logically, if Nole clicks, he takes this. And he has more previous of clicking at this level than JMDP...

It should be said that this was similar to the talk before the Wimbledon final. It is dangerous to ignore other factors and concentrate solely on who is the more accomplished player.

Whether you're picking heart over head, if Del Potro plays the final like he played today, and Djokovic plays his best, (and he has been looking sharp,) it's going to be a bloodbath, and will come down to a few key points. This could be as good as their Wimbledon semi. :please:

I'll be in the Del Potro corner, and not just to see Djokovic lose. He's long over-due for a Masters Shield, combined with the comeback struggles. In any case, I'll be surprised if it doesn't go 3.

Well, I just tipped the balance in Nole's favor, for a win in 3:cool:. I love them both, so my heart has nothing to do with it, it is just a gut feeling.

My head says Juan Martin and My heart says Del Potro. He gets his first Master's
title in 3 sets.

Go go, DelPo! Could it be? JMDP finally realizing he can compete with the big 4 consistently? Would love for him to make it the big 5 :D

They started without me! I thought it was on later, am stranded in town now with my cappuccino and croissant, and won't see a shot. Looks tight though...

What is with Novak flailing around after every other swing like a fish out of water? It's freakin distracting. I've seen him do this before once or twice, which was fine, but in this frequency it's ridiculous.

It's really funny following this on the ATP website on the phone - the scoreboard keeps leaping back in time! So, is it 5-4 to Djoker in the 3rd, or 3-2, or 2-1 with a mini break in the tiebreak?

Weird issues with balance for Novak in set 2 though. Almost like Del Potro spiked his bottle saying "whadd'ya say we whiskey up this here match?"
