Quite a fitting picture, as the writing is indeed on the wall for Nadal to get 17 slams.

We don't know what will happen in future. However, we know that at the present time, Nadal has 14 slams.

If you have a complex, it's an inferiority complex.

I know what will happen in the future. I'm the oracle, old sport.

Your feelings of inferiority are so strong that you've lost touch with the reality.

Obsi. Your OP refers to 2011-2016. 4 of those years have passed, and Rafa has won more majors than Nole in the last 3 of them.

He's also played only 3/4 the amount of slams Novak played in that period, and he's also beaten Novak 4 times out of 4 in the slams played since 2011.

Should you edit your OP to reflect this? I ask this only to get the thread back on topic, and not to give you an inferiority complex... ;)

Untrue. Everyone here can attest that I've been making nothing but accurate predictions for the past 5 years, including Wawrinka and Cilic winning majors this year. They laughed at me at first. Now they beg for my predictions. For a singificant paypal donation, they can have it.

Can you prove that all your predictions in the last 5 years were accurate?

He predicted this very conversation on August, the 23rd, 2011.

Why do you talk about 2012-2014 when the topic is 2011-2016?

obsi, Kieran wants to talk about 2012-14, because it make his guy look better, just like you did not include 2010 to make Novak look better(nor would I).

I get that, but if we're discussing a six year period from 2011-2016, then two of those years haven't happened yet, and over the last three, Rafa has been more successful at the slams, while being virtually part-time. I think that at best, it's a shared era, since it's usually more noteworthy if anybody else wins a major - but that prolly been said a while ago! ;)

Broken predicted you'd ask for proof in 2008. There was a thread called the "Mirror of Galadriel" on the old tennis.com website. That site no longer has a forum but you can email nostradamus@tennis.com for confirmation.

I think it's a shared era no matter how you cut it (although these types of question are inherently subjective). At best for Novak it's 6-5 slams to rafa. For Rafa it is at best 8-6 or 4-3. In all three cases, it's a story of two guys overall incredibly close in the most important measurement.

I haven't used that e-mail in forever. I'll have to ask them to reset my password. The secret question is "Who will win the US Open in 2021?".

Wait a minute... how can you NOT remember something? Where's all that talk about "look inside your heart to see the truth?" You TOLD me that I would win one major soon, and I AM WAITING! You told me that you knew EVERYTHING! So, how can you forget a password?!?!?

You know what? You are a FRAUD! I want my money back...

You are right, Obsi, I have no proof... no one has... oh, dear, how could I be such a fool... shame on me...

Broken_Shoelace, how much more time do you need to provide proof?

We're discussing 2011-2016 so it's logical that we should debate what needs to happen in the next two years.

If Djokovic wins 4 slams and Nadal wins none, Novak would have 10 and Rafa 5. Do you agree that in this case 2011-2016 is Djokovic Era?

Obsi, when, in the future, people will talk about this decade in tennis, most probably the name Djokovic will be the first mentioned, considering what we all expect he is still to achieve (as you say, more four majors in the next two years, for example).

That being said, the question you ask in the OP, as I am pretty sure people have stressed it before, is highly subjective. It is hard to see 2013-2014 as part of a Djokovic "era" given that he won so few in this period. Yes, I wrote "few", considering a standard that himself -- and Nadal and Federer -- created recently.

So if he wins 4+ slams in the next two years, yes, I could see 2011-2016 as a Djokovic era, but with a two years interlude in it. I guess most people here would agree with that.

That's far too big an "if" for anyone to take seriously. Can you be a bit more realistic, and accept that most likely Rafa will win 3 majors over the next two seasons, and Nole 2 (max)? :popcorn

I'm way too busy getting calls from sport gamblers asking me about SuperBowl results, UEFA Champions League final, and the 8 players who will be participating in this year's WTF.
