...and Naldbandian fan are all three at the same time (sorry, couldn´t resist).

Fixed.

LOL, it took me a couple seconds to get what you did there.

Merry Christmas to all you crazy folk - a mildly amusing read while I sit here stirring the risotto.

Ummm, the inferiority complex comment was a direct response to Billie. Why did you think it was addressed to you?

In the post #36 you said this:

"The inferiority complex and defensiveness are all about Novak fans."

In general, yes. It's not even debatable. Federer fans are arrogant, Nadal fans are excuse makers, Djokovic fans play the victim-card driven by inferiority complexes. There are exceptions and you're new here, but that's the way it's been for years.

Are Nadal fans excuse makers because they are driven by inferiority complexes?

Nope, we are excuse makers because we are driven by a superiority complex. Our player is so superior that he can only lose to an injury.

^ Which shows that Nadal fans are the arrogant ones. Pretty much all of 'em. Not sure how Federer fans are seen as arrogant? Maybe 5 years ago when he was still great.

As the majority of the Federer/Nadal/Djokovic fans also do not fit the description. It was meant in good spirit, as I used to root a lot for Nalbandian too. I was pretty sure I would have to end up explaining myself, just did not think it would be for you... sorry anyway, if you felt a bit offended.

Ummm...that was tongue in cheek and I wasn't being serious, maybe?

But the arrogance of Federer fans is when they still act like every loss is "embarrassing," every match on grass and fast hards is on his racket, and he still should never lose to Djokovic or Nadal at Wimbledon.

If you still didn't hold him to the same standards you did when he dominated, you wouldn't be arrogant.

Ah, didn't know that was sarcasm as that is truly the way most of the Rafa fans on here come off. But obviously our perspectives are different.

As for the rest of it...I just call that confidence in Roger's abilities. I of course do not hold him to the same standards of when he was in his prime but I do think his top game on fast courts is still better than anyone else's. But now the margins are a lot smaller for him and some inconsistency is expected, you never know when he will play amazing or really bad.

Precisely, and thus, many of these losses, even on faster surfaces, are probably more excusable than you guys make them out to be. I understand the frustration when it happens, especially as fans, and of course due to the fact that he's done nothing but win for the most of his career, but it's time to accept it. I know we will soon have to go through the same with Nadal.

I think you're generalising about Federer fans... just a bit! :puzzled

Well yeah. I also think everyone here understands that. Like, nobody is ever going to read my post and interpret it as "literally every Federer fan thinks so and so." Some things just go without saying, especially on a small forum like this when everyone is familiar with everyone else.

Federer has won 17 slams. Therefore, it's hard to believe that you have a superiority complex.

Quite a fitting picture, as the writing is indeed on the wall for Nadal to get 17 slams.

We don't know what will happen in future. However, we know that at the present time, Nadal has 14 slams.

If you have a complex, it's an inferiority complex.

I know what will happen in the future. I'm the oracle, old sport.
