Peers and Groth fall 3-6 6-3 6-2 2-6 6-3 to Jack Sock and Steve Johnson in the Oz/US - still a live match... Kyrgios will really need to take care of Sock IMO. Despite Thompson's excellent win against Sock, I'd still have Isner as the favourite in that one.

Day 2 Highlights: Australia lead USA 2-1

Serbia won 3-0 and France won 3-0 (and will face each other in semis).

USA and Itanly won their respective doubles matches and are at 1-2.

USA will surely lose in the singles match against Nick and hence the tie.

Also, Belgium is likely to win their tie due to Goffin being there, but not as sure as Australia.

Novak wanted match practice, but could not get much. He needed to play only one match in Serbia's win over Spain.

I thought he the reverse singles had to be played too?

IIRC as long as the TIE is determined, the reverse singles are just exhibitions! Most of the time an alternate plays and it's made into Best of 3! :dodgy: :popcorn

Best of 3? When did they change that. I thought the reverse singles had to be played B05 regardless of what happened on the first two days?

As I said, if the Tie is determined already, which it had been after Querrey's match losing in 3 straight sets to Kygrios! Any superfluous match has always been made BO3; Isner won his last night in 2 straight sets! :cover  :nono

So Belgium and Australia will face each other in the other SF.

I think Serbia or Australia will play in the finals.

this time we were Lucky (no Sir Andy) but in semi if Nole plays...we have a tiny chance....even if Tsonga announced he'll be there
