Both Zverevs skipped DC to play in the St. Petersburg tournament this week, with the only real difference being that Mischa had to play over the weekend to qualify while Alexander did not. I guess that is the reason the DTB will quote for why they didn't suspend the younger Zverev, but I think it is much more likely that they didn't want to bite the hand that they hope will feed them in years to come. All in all, it seems like an interesting political move- kind of a warning shot across the bow for Sascha.
So what is Dustin Brown suspended from doing, what playing tennis this month in Germany! Who cares
Suspended from competing in the Davis cup in 2017. It is kind of cyclical- they didn't want to play it, so we're suspending them so they can't play in it. The interesting part is that they didn't include Sascha in the suspension, but are making the point that they can if they want to for the Davis Cup or the Olympics if he wants to play them in the future.
They will be ok without Dustin Brown
