For all the people who have questioned my arguments about how poor Federer's strategy has been over the years against Nadal, tonight's match was excellent proof of what I have been saying for years.

The advantages for Federer on a court like this are obvious enough. The fact that Federer can't exploit them is a joke.

Roger can take lot of positives from this match. It could have gone either way.

This match was also a great example of why Nadal wins at the highest level as he does. It has more to do with the head/the personality than the game.

Is this the first time these two have played a summer hard court match?

no they played Miami at least 3 times..

and don't say it isn't summer.its sub tropical in there, its usually hot n humid when that tourney is on in march.

Cali, once you understand the basic fact that tennis is played with an ACTUAL OPPONENT ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE NET, you will be on your way to understanding tennis...Obviously you are not there yet...Keep working at it though...

The problem is Rogers backhand is for the most part completely dead

Yeah, its that easy to change directions consistently. Plus going after Nadals forehand...

You should go advise Federer along with all of those brilliant coaches who have guided him to a 10-21 record
