I didn't think he had been playing that hot; both Nole and Roger lost a lot of sets going 3 from day 1! Roger is still more dangerous when crowding the net! He ain't gonna win it from the baseline! Nole goes right at him at times! On serve! :whistle:

I don't think it's Nole making him work mate. He's just atrocious. And he's not really hitting the ball with any pace with his rally shots. Maybe he feels that pace isn't good to give Novak, but his soft balls to Novak's backhand are getting smacked

This match is pretty much how Roger played all week. Not going to cut it against Nole. Gets broken from 40-0. Congrats to Nole on an amazing feat. I have always said it was an anomaly making all those finals and not winning one. It was going to happen sooner or later. Good job.
He is probably the leading candidate to win the Open now.

Well I'd say he was or at least should've been embarrassed by the Wimbledon loss. This is an embarrassment too but not as important as one. If he isn't embarrassed by this match then it's just not going to happen.

Hard to believe it's "only" a 6-4 6-4 rape. That scoreline is lopsided enough for Fed at Cincy but it's kind for how bad this one's been.

I would like to say that he thought he could skate his way to a win without putting in the work, but what do you say to a dude who does that and still gets to finals? It would probably have been better for him to lose to someone earlier to really shake up his thinking. It would take a miracle for him to be a contender in Flushing as things stand
