Sad to see Tiafoe go out, but Schwartzman is always sturdy.

I should hope for Tsitsipas to be the alfa here, but I can't help but pull for Korda. And they got to TB in the first set. Mouth-watering.

Competitive TB, but Tsitsipas comes up good. I think this could be a future rivalry. They are fun to watch. And I haven't given up on Korda yet, in this match.

Turned on the tennis for the 11am start and guess what? It's raining. Again.

Gael Monfils secures his ATP career No 500 with a 63 75 win over de Minaur.
Well he won't be getting anymore wins here in Cincy! He's going into his act against Rublev; weary AF, can barely move, but is killing himself to win a TB! Is it the entertaiment value of going thru this drama every time he's about to go down in flames? Hopefully Gael will be put out of his misery in straight sets! Rublev serving for it now! :partying-face:

Nothing has changed with Gael it is a wonder he has not seriously injured himself on the tour with his insane gets to win a point.

PCB beat Hubie H in straights, but it took over 2 hours. Can I mention that Carreño Busta has a very elegant profile?

Here comes Babycakes and FAA. Battle of the Besties. FAA is playing well. He might stun my boy tonight.

I'm rooting for Babycakes, because I think he has the best chance of threatening in NYC.

Wow, that took a long time, but Matteo holds. He's got rust showing, but I'm sorry FAA is pickable, even if you're rusty.

Big hold there from the Italian. If it keeps taking this much work, I think FAA takes the first set.

I did not like the fact that Matteo still has his thigh wrapped,it is hindering his movement

I hope they left their friendship in the locker room:)

FAA was doing him a favor carrying Matteo to this point! It should have been a whitewash, but for FAA's terrible UFE's and missed service returns on BP's early on!

This isn't about his leg as much as "rust" and how attackable his backhand is right now! I think I could make headway just by slicing and dicing the ball to that backhand! :ptennis:

I called it. Thought he might lose tonight. Good. He can go play some practice sets and heal that thigh.
