Fed played a great first set and now his play has gone down mostly due to him returning a lot worse. These days I feel like his ROS is the best indicator of his overall play, moreso than his serve.

Stan is finding his game. Roger has to take time away from him and rush him, otherwise it is a long night...

Normally on a fast court this is no contest but Stan is looking great so far. All of Stan's wins have been on clay and the only other competitive matches were slow hards.

Stan is going to be unseeded in the Open and the way it is looking, the part of the draw he lands may be open to some upsets.

Anybody know why Novak's match hasn't started yet?

No way. Stan performs well in slams only when he is on nobody's radar. Now that he is on the radar of many, I am sure he will exit sometime in the first week, if not in the first round.

Raonic had his chances up a break, serving for it! That Gen of players I just can't tell you how disappointed I am with them; the whole crop of Milos, Kei, & Grigor! All that talent, but already broken down old nubs before they hit 30! It's not like I want Nole to lose this match, but if Milos can earn it, more power to him in his climb back into the top 10! :nono:  :banghead: :cuckoo:

I’m not sure Milos will make it back to the top 10, or at least only briefly. The world is passing him by and he’ll soon be surpassed by a handful of NextGenners.

Next Gen for the moment took it on the chin in this event. None of them made it into the top 8.

I agree with this. Roanic is a dedicated player, but not especially inspiring. I thought his ambition might get him somewhere, when there was a bit of an open window, but injuries did him in. I don't think he's going to come out the better amongst the old guard and the new crop.

Wawrinka is back in the top 100 in the live ranking, right on the 100 spot.

Nole played some awesome tennis after being broken for 1-2 in the third and won 5 of next 6 games to beat Raonic. Next is Cilic, so this is very much like Balkan Open for Nole for the most of this tournament so far.
