Good stuff Fiero, Rafa's Waterloo has been AO..he squander 2013, 2014 and 2017..

He certainly didn't squander 2017. He was outplayed for most of the match and Roger's inner demons of past matches he's let slip against him were the only reason he got it to 5 sets. Roger should have had that done and dusted in 3. Squandered it most certainly was not.

Up 3-1 and serving in the 5th set, you think Roger was out playing Rafa at that point
., for once let's be real and honest, Rafa choked

You forgot the whole rest of the scenario that Rafa only won the 2 sets he did 'cos Roger brain farted. Re-watch the match if need be, he did nothing better in the sets he won, Roger just sprayed errors and served badly. 3-1 is 1 whole break. Big deal. Again, Roger should have won that match in 3 straight sets. He pulverized him in third set 6-1 and then played a rubbish 4th set and the 2nd set was a shambles after he played so well in set 1.

Nole gave Rafa life in 2012 after choking away 4th set in a TB and going down a break in the 5th! Nadal missed that passing shot at 30 all and broke himself giving Nole life and the win that went 5:53! I'm still trying to recover watching it all live! Never again; will catch the repeats from now on! Today's players just aren't that entertaining to watch the way they play the game from the baseline on homogenized courts for the most part!
No..it was 4-2 30-15 when Rafa should have hit the ball at Novak but chose to try to go around him instead the high percentage shot to go right at his body
.trust me I recall it like yesterday. It will be etched in my memory 4ever

There's nothing to forget, when you are up 3-1 and serving ..Rafa have to close Roger out regardless of how Roger played the previous 4 sets.Nuff Said

Besides the fact that Nadal fans dislike him for beating him at Wimbledon 2012, why exactly is Rosol a POS?
I am not gonna dignify the merits of if Rosol is a POS or not..just Google Murray saying to him , nobody on the tour likes you. Nuff said

Yes, I recalled Murray saying that as I read your post and thought to myself, these 2 guys are who exactly to say this when so many people dislike them and their antics?! Each to their own I guess. I see no reason to dislike Rosol.

3-1 again is 1 break of serve which is nothing and, again, Roger contributed to him being up a break in the first place. Failing to win a set while up 5-1 is one thing (Cilic against Murray USO 2012) but 3-1 is another.

We know what bad taste those fans have, they love Soderling too :p

Many of us liked him well before RG 2009 as well. Not sure where the bad taste comes into it though as he had a great aggressive game for anyone who appreciates attacking tennis.

Many players never had too much sympathy for him, he looked very strange but of course Roger and his fans love him. And yeah.... he had a great aggressive game, he won a bunch of MS and GS because his game...:lulz2:

As the commentator has said “Rafa the Houdini of Tennis”. He never had to lost the second set but in the 4-5 he made many errors having to go to the third which was superb played, very good match by both players. Hope he won’t be too tired tomorrow and will send Kyrgios to the locker room as soon as posible

In fairness, I do think Rafa was lucky to get it to 5. He was the obviously wearier player. It's still a heartbreaker for Nadal fans, you have to imagine, that he couldn't take advantage of the opportunity. Sort of the same in 2012 v. Djokovic. The back going in 2014 is the one you'd like to have back, at least to compete.

There's a lot of massaging over old territory at the moment. I will call Yahtzee on any notion that Soderling had a fan base before he beat Rafa in 2009. The only person touting him was Bjorn Borg. But at least he took his great upset and ran with it, all the way to #4. Rosol is a footnote.

For sure Rafa is the come-back kid. I didn't watch the Nadal/Dimitros, but saw a good bit of Kyrgios/Zverev. Some of it was fun, and Kyrgios was sturdy, but Zverev was nervy and served poorly. I saw a lot of DFs. I think Rafa's got this one.

I don't think I could be able to wake up so early to watch the match because I'm still suffering the change of hours of my trip and I'm feeling too asleep but maybe I will do the effort. Anyway....VAMOS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It’s too hard to predict Nick’s matches..I know folks do not take it seriously but that guy suffers from bi polar or some type of mental illness which is unfortunate because he is such a ridiculous talent.
