With Djokovic returning to No 1 he will only have 55 points margin over Medvedev
Medvedev could still get the No 1 back if he plays Miami and has good result.

Guess #1 didn't like being numero uno. :nono: What is it w/ these NG weaklings? Can't hold on to a top ranking for more than 5 minutes.

Try to be kind to the 'new refreshed and focused' Nick K:)

Nick's antics haven't gotten to me as much over the years! I was watching when he decided to try and humiliate Wawrinka bringing up relationship he had with a kid at the end of his marriage years ago! I was embarrassed for all concerned! Like Nastase, Connors, & McEnroe, some players can get away with being jerks and retain fan support! Kyrgios hasn't reached that yet, but he seems to have calmed down! He gave moderate support for Novak during the controversy back in January! His 2 upsets of Nadal will always be a highlight in tennis memories; esp. overcoming 5 or 6 MP's held by Rafa in that TB in Acapulco! :face-with-hand-over-mouth: :face-with-tears-of-joy::lol6:

I am still out on Nick, lets see if he can keep his focus for as long as he is playing at IW.,he has to convince me,than just a couple of matches, actions speak louder than words.

Rafa better start wearing a hat! The shine off that bald spot caught my eye early before the deluge of sweat starts running down! :face-with-hand-over-mouth: :face-with-tears-of-joy: :lol6:
Seriously, Rafa should be called "Friar Nadal" at this point. IT is very noticeable.

When I saw Pistol Pete in WTT one year in Sacramento, the shine off his bald spot blinded me for days...

I lived out there in Rancho Cordova thru the 90's and was a member of that tennis club in Gold River IIRC! Got to see Connors and Martina a couple times! Hit a few balls with his kid Brett! He didn't have it! :fearful-face: :face-with-hand-over-mouth::astonished-face::yawningface:

Unusual to see Larry Ellison at one of Rafa's matches in IW.
Is that sarcastic? I thought they were friends, and that Larry attends them often...I could be wrong on that, though.

Dan Evans has come down in the 2nd.

With this win,
Rafa has become the first player to win 400 Masters 1000 victories
Rafa will also tie with Federer's begining of the year-best win streak of 17! and Pete Sampras in 1997...win streak of 17

Nadal's next opponent could either be Opelka or Shapovalov that should be a "tricky' match either way. Also, Nadal has to be efficient because if he does win on Wednesday, he has to comeback on Thursday for his potential QF match. I do wonder if the tournament will do afternoon then night match for Nadal on Wednesday and Thursday.
