I hope this latest crop of American men can go a little further than the last! So far we're lucky to get a couple good years out of them before falling back into obscurity! Where's Ryan Harrison? Isner and Querry played yet again early in a tournament with John surviving! I like the games of Tiafoe, Fritz, Harris, Brooksby, & Opelka! Not sure they can really overtake the Euros for any real length of time! :face-with-hand-over-mouth: :face-with-tears-of-joy::fearful-face::astonished-face:
We gonna see no?:)

Tommy Paul sounds like he has a southern accent an I wrong?

Wiki says he's from North Carolina! Being exposed to the South here in the States, it's easy to pick up that accent! Remember Swedish player, Mikael Pernfors? He was a Georgia Bulldog and sounded like a southern hillbilly after being down there for a few years! :face-with-hand-over-mouth::face-with-tears-of-joy::fearful-face::astonished-face:

Loved this quote on Twitter from Ricky Dimon ( tongue in cheek of course)

ATP: Under no circumstances will we stop Alexander Zverev from playing tennis matches

Tommy Paul : Let me handle this

Pure Gold Ricky Dimon!

Can we consider FAA as a American (North)?

Wasn't Zverev up the break in the 3rd? I went to bed figuring it was over. I see it went to tie-break. Good job, Tommy! As everyone says above...righting the wrong done by the toothless ATP.

Even Jim Courier was disappointed in the ATP’s non-action against Zverev in the pre-match “analysis.”

Anyways, Tommy Paul did a great job last night. Remember, he almost took Nadal into a 3rd set in Acapulco.

When it comes to Tommy Paul I know he grew up in New Jersey. His Dad built him a clay court in the back of their home but how many months out of the year can you play tennis is Jersey? So at what point he moved for better year round training I am not sure, but he is a Jersey boy.

So with Zverev’s early loss If I’m not mistaken if Rafa reaches the final he gets to #3 in the rankings. Even if he gets to the SF’s, they’re virtually tied since Rafa will only trail Zverev by 25 points.

Like I mentioned earlier, from the stands Korda’s attire was making the spectators do double and triple takes. People were joking about it.

What a beat down the youngster Alcarez is putting on his fellow Spainard Bautista Agut serving for the match 5-0 winning the 1st set 62

^ It’s a shame Medvedev/Monfils and Alcaraz/RBA start at the same time. I’d love to see both.
TC is showing Med/Monf, but I just check the scores and Alcaraz is burning RBA badly, 6-2, 5-0.

Great to watch!

Carlos just finished up a bagel 2nd set.
If Medvedev gets past Monfils they meet in the 4th round. The buzz in IW on Carlos is everywhere.
