herios, see post above. I never expected him to be the "next great player." But I thought he might be the best player of the "Lost Generation" born in the 1989-94ish range. I think that's still possible, even likely. I mean who is better? Raonic and Nishikori are close. We need to see more from Vesely and Thiem.

At this moment, in that generation, he is ranked only #3, behind Nishikori and Raonic. I know he is younger than them, but it is not guaranteed he will best them.

Kei has his customary sloppy game and JWT will serve for the 2nd set 5-4

In the doubles WTF race 7 spot are taken.

There is one spot left with 2 contender. Both the contenders are playing right now on different courts in Bercy. (Didig/Melo and Butorac/Klausen)

^ I thought you could only have one ranking in doubles.

What happens in doubles if one guy has an amazing year with two different partners and both teams make the WTF cut?

Good question. Needless to say, one of the two pairs cannots play. So, basically that
player will get to decide with whom he wants to play.

I don't know the real answer, but I am making up one which sounds logical.

Indivual doubles ranking is different than pairs doubles ranking. It is the pairs doubles
ranking that is used to qualify for WTF.

I thought Kei was going to close it out in second set. Now, I am thinking this could go to the wire.
