Of the 16 seeded players who had byes, only 2 lost (Cilic and Lopez). We need slightly more unpredictability.

Sadly, that's just not the tour. There is real wealth gap between the different levels of players that I think makes it harder on the lower ranked players and the size of their teams.

If it was the middle of the year, I would agree. But it's nice to see all of the top guys playing their best at the end of the year. How often do we see that?

Surprised to see that Gasquet leads the H2H vs Nishikori 5-0. Nishikori needs a win here.

Gasquet takes the 1st set tie break over Nishikori. Kei just doesn't seem to have it ever since the U.S. Open. Hope he hasn't peaked yet.

Woke up in time for the first set tiebreak. Richie and Nishi were on serve, and then Nishi won a huge rally with a forehand down the line to go 3-3. From there I thought the Frenchman would fade, but he just stepped it up and won the next four points.

Looks as though Jo crushed Agut like a bug. And was happily surprised to see Troiki had come back to beat Lopez.

And another retirement by Nishikori. Just can't get healthy. So much potential but his body won't let him do it. A shame. I wonder if he'll try the WTF now. Probably will, but not really sure why.

This is what I said about him when he first appeared on the radar. There was no way I saw his body holding up under the grind of today's game. He's a great kid and I thought Chang might be able to help him with his fitness. :nono

After Novak won the first set with Simon 6-3, the odds for Gillou to win are 67 to 1.

7 breaks in the second set with Novak up 4-3. He finally holds in the eighth game to go up 5-3.

WTA match going on with Nole and the annoying pusher Simon.
