A big win for Grigor. Maybe he can build on this and make 2016 a breakthrough year. Would love to see him put it all together.

Defeating Cilic is not a big win in my books.

Maybe but it's better than nothing for Dimi, maybe the beginning of the incline for him too ??

Cilic is 11 in the world, and Grigor is sliding towards oblivion. I think it's a big win for him...

Ok, then...Keep on searching for the silver lining. Wake me up when he reaches semis.

Who said he's going to win the semis? All we're saying is, where Grigor is now, beating Cilic is a big win for him...

He plays Ferrer next round. If he wins in that one, that indeed I will classify as a big win. This one today, not so much, just another win.

Cilic is out! That's 67 Masters tournaments and he has never made the semifinals. Not once. :cover

One more interesting stat. A GS winner didn't make semi if life... that must be confirmation of the era of immortals.

I agree herios, he should be beating players like Cilic, regularly. Up til now he hasn't been. Both guys served poorly. Dimitrov was moving well around the court, going for and making his shots most of the time.

I never pinned any hopes on him of winning a slam, but when he chooses to apply himself, his tennis is excellent. I'm hoping Davin will be a good coach and able to work on main the issue that lies between Grigor's ears.

Nadal is dissecting Rosol right now. He played plenty of those angle abusing forehands, which seem to work really well on this low bouncing surface.

What a shake hands so much "affective" between both players :snicker
Like I always say, some players take to much risk depending to whom they play, if they have a lucky day sometimes they win but not most of the times ;)

A definite improvement for Rafa..I knew he would have a better tennis against Rosol then last week effort. Did anyone see the match, I was busy on conference calls in the office.

Puppetmaster noted how Nadal was hitting sharply angled forehands that drug Rosol off of the court and opened things up for the Spanish Bull. It is not a surprising scoreline to me, like Carol alluded to above. Lukas has to redline from the first game and be clicking to beat Rafa or have a chance to do so. If he misses, his UFE count can skyrocket, to say nothing of the fact that ol' Rafael is a pretty cool customer and knows a thing or two about how to play tennis.

Murray looked pretty intimidating against Coric today. Then again, Coric has no real weapons.

This means Cilic's dream of getting free money as alt is dead.

We have four contenders for the two free money positions. Gasquet, Tsonga, Anderson and Isner now.

You can't build on just one win. Let him put together a sequence of wins and then you can dream.

I'd like to see the highlights just to watch them shaking hands at the end. I'm still chuckling after last weeks handshake... :snicker

Roger just took the first set from Seppi, 6-1. Guess Ralf and Murray inspired him.

... right after I wrote that, the old guy had to come back from 0-40 and an add out to win his serve. :cover

Handshakes and sportsmanship in general are overrated. I liked that "handshake" last week, bad enough they make them shake hands at all.
