Fed is obviously out. Isner is nevew easy task.

Anyone noticed a lot of sweat on Djoker hair. Like it would be 40 dgrees. Maybe not a coincidence he was slouch today. That pause maybe didn't help him much.

Roger bows down after a poor TB to Isner.

Too bad after playing a wonderful match against Seppi.

Big John was tough and he deserves the victory. When serving and playing well, he can topple any of the lesser Giants. Kudos to him--he took the victory.

Isner did well to hold it together, blokes like him rarely do, but he's an honest and game lad. It was a tough one for Roger because apart from the obvious difficulty in breaking Big John's serve, he looked alright...

He's been garbage all Fall. Not too concerning unless he continues a weak level in 2016. After another disappointing year I think 2016 is his last chance to do something, and it's not a big one.

Roger was never broken today and he broke Isner once.

But, he last as he played poor TBs.

That is a shame considering in a recent match (where was it), Fed won a TB against Isner with a scoreline of 7-0 (without losing a single point).

Pretty sure it was the USO he did that.

Roger shouldn't be broken more than 1 out of 100 service games vs. Isner. So no accomplishment there. Losing two TB's to someone who can only serve is weak.

Isner's serve won him this match; high %'s and timely aces! His groundstrokes barely kept him in points and he was unable to keep it in play when Roger's serve was vulnerable! The misses weren't even forced; some shots up in his eyes and butchered into the net! :cover :puzzled :nono

Tiebreaks can be a crapshoot. Especially against Isner. Roger dropped a point early in the final set tiebreak and from there he was under pressure. He did well to force it back to 6-5...

^ He dropped another service point later on, that's awful.

The serve is the crucial shot in the tiebreak, so already there's pressure if the big server is relaxed...

Yes but how does that explain Roger losing points on his own serve in the tiebreaker to someone who can barely keep it in play?

Pressure. It happens to everyone. The margins are so small...

I know you're disappointed, but give him some props. At 34 he's the in the top three, he contended in two slam finals and is the only guy to beat Djokovic twice this year. Hope he has a 2016 at least as good as this year; and will be happy for you if it's better.

it seems Ferru is healthier, good for him!
And poor Nishi, he is getting injury by injury, hope is not going to finish like Delpo of whom I perdicted that his height and the strong way hitting the balls he wouldn't last healthy too long :( :s

The serve is crucial in these kind of surfaces even that someone insists this one is very slow....:nono

Like 2014 he played great for most of the year until it counted most. Actually in 2014 he did play a solid GS final just didn't win. As it stands the only thing of note he did was win Cincy this year. He's likely to finish behind Murray this year in the rankings. Not some banner year even if he was 40.

All the commotion over Fed losing woke me up. Isner won! Was rooting for it but didn't think it was possible after that Seppi disection in the last round. Way to go Isner! If he beats Ferrer and Gasquet loses to Murray, He has a very good chance for a Year-End Top Ten ranking I think. And the WTF alternate spot.

Way to go Isner! :clap

Didn't think Andy would win quite so convincingly in these first two matches. Perhaps he was trying to send a message to Goffin and Belgium today?

Surprised Roger was defeated but saves Andy facing him in a potential semi final. Woohoo for a 7-5 6-1 loss to Nole in the final :p

Ferrer rallies back a defeats Grigor in 3 sets. This is why I was not sharing the enthusiasm after Grigor defeated Cilic. He needs to do more work to get out of this bad patch.
